Man this thread always makes me sad my parents gave away all my legos. My favorite set I had was a semi truck and trailer with a police chopper on it. I also had the Space shuttle with NASA command and the simulator. Had a snow patrol set too with a neat truck. RIP Childhood.

Just read that whole discussion. WIN!

I've been using toysperiod.com to figure out all the old sets for my 4 yo boy. My wife and BIL had a bunch of great sets, big one, no instructions, minimal missing pieces.

You can find not only instructions, but you get part inventories for each. And if you find a unique identifying piece but have no idea what model it is for, you can then cross ref all sets that have that piece...and then possibly buy them, if it has an active link. Perhaps that's the same as how brick link works.

    For example https://www.toysperiod.com/lego-set-reference/star-wars/mini/lego-4491-mini-trade-federation-mtt/

There are the parts. You can pretty much pic out the Y-wing parts, and in the instructions, you can ID each one.

it was a ploy by Lego to have people buy the UCS falcon day one. You were lead to believe you’d get exclusive items if you’d gotten the black card. None of this panned out other than simply having the black vip card with your name on it.

My dad told me I could buy a roundtrip ticket to Europe for the same price as a UCS Falcon!

You’ll have the falcon forever. The airfare? Cramped seats, smelly people, and lousy food. Did I mention mean flight attendants?

Do you want to go to Europe?

I want (and can afford) the UCS BAD! But... I don’t have the space for a piece that big and it is a lot of money. Personally I think it will still be around for awhile. If it’s on backorder it’s still selling and MAKING THEM MONEY! So I’m kinda in a wait and see. Maybe I’ll win a bigger home:rolleyes: Maybe it will go on sale and I will make space for it. It would be a crown jewel of any LEGO collection!

I have a room dedicated to LEGO and still have stuff boxed up in my basement. I want the Falcon just for the delight of building the largest set ever made. Storage of such a piece would be problematic in the long term. :(

I guess so! Thought it was still a good seller for them, seems crazy to be getting rid of it.

I see the "women of NASA" set is already retired too.

Glad I got them both when I did! And the Apollo 11 set too.
