I would be hesitant, especially knowing the Highlander Hybrid was a terrible vehicle a few years ago, I don't know about now.

What sources? My sources tell me I’m fabulous, and I think they are absolutely reliable....

You don't need sources for that, I also think you're fabulous.
I'm pretty sure I can't say any names or specifics but its someone that is working directly on that project.

Awww...well, ask ‘em about a retrofit option.... I’d like a hybrid. I would have bought one if it was available in late 2017.

Actually hybrid tacos will be available in many exterior colors, but they will always be pink on the inside.

(I can’t believe I wrote that. I am going to end up on some kind of list for sure.)

I probably overstated the snow performance. I’m in MA. It performed better than what I expected at the time. But I’m also a cautious snow driver. It performed pretty well in rainy weather.

The 3.5L only produces 87-89% of peak torque at 2k rpm.

    TW wants at least 109-125%.

Electric power is where the nice low speed torque comes in, at least if it was engineered properly.
    Chevy's volt: 294lb-ft torque @ 1rpm.
    0-30mph - 2.2 seconds
    0-60mph - 7.1 seconds

Not fast by any means, but fun at lower speeds as a result of that torque.

88% @ 2K RPM is great. I really cant see what the whiners are crying about. I've seen 22RE trucks out clime others that had 3~5 times the power/torque.

My wife’s car is a Prius C and she’s had it since 2012, not one issue with it and averages 50 mpg on summer gas and 48 on the shitty winter gas. I worked with a guy that had a courier service and he had a Prius with almost a million miles on it!

It seems that you're not quite familiar with power to weight ratios.

I would only buy one if Toyota builds a HybridPro, because it would be so expensive and Toyota does not currently offer incentives on Hybrid, or Pro models.

I probably won't buy a hybrid anything until regular ice are discontinued.

Maybe would by a hybrid. My ma picked up a Ford Focus hybrid and it's a nice ride. I'm not a fan of the lag when it switches from electric to gas power. I would consider a full EV tacoma before a hybrid tbh.

Looking forward to Extreme E race series to see how fully offroad EVs fair.

I am hopeful that a full EV Tacoma will hit the market in a big way, Toyota has invested quite a bit into a company that is researching solid state batteries. Once those hit the market, its pretty much curtains for ICE other than for enthusiasts.

There is no Ford Focus Hybrid. There’s a Focus EV. Do you mean a hybrid Fusion?

Why can't us Americans get a diesel Tacoma? They get 'em (well, the Hilux, but still) in Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Middle East!

It’s due to the strict Federal Government emission standards. The current diesels for sale are choked to death because of required DPF, regenerative heat cycles to burn off soot, tons of sensors, DEF fluid, etc.
