I want to paint my chrome bumper black. I am debating on Line-X but not sure if I want the texture of it. Anyone have any pics of bumpers done in Line-X?

here you go. sorry for the old picture. earlier this year, in january, i put bed liner on my chrome rear bumper. i love it, and when it comes time to clean the truck. any type of TIRE shine- gel/foam will make it glossy and shiny again.

That looks pretty good Zombie...do you know if you can get that stuff color-matched?

Are those instructions for the plastic grille shell or chrome bumper as well?

thanks. thats what I did for my grill. I plan on doing my rear bumper close to the same way. scotch brite, adhesion promoter, primer, then Liner.

as far as color matched, I think you would have to have a custom mixture made from a paint store/body shop.

I must check that option out too. I am soon going to my local auto-finishing shop to have a chat with someone there.

I also went to my local Line-X shop today. The guy there basically said to do it right, I'd have to sandblast the bumper, they would then prime and Line-x it. To just to a pad scuffing won't be good enough he said because the Line-X won't stick properly and could come off. If it was a chrome tube bar, it would not matter because the line-x would go all the way around and it would keep itself on, unlike a bumper were only a certain area would be line-x'ed. He also quoted me $150 [IMG]
