I am slightly miffed I can't change my startup and display off images. Lame sauce. I may have to see if I can use any of my contacts and make it happen.

Also, my truck isn't very dirty, but I am absolutely resisting washing it. I did clean off the windshield with some invisible glass though. Need to figure out what I want to coat the windows with.

Not sure yet. Have a few friends that are high end retailers and I am waiting for them to reply. I have read really good things about several products.

No, you can't make a liquid "act like a magnet" without adding magnetic particles to the liquid. (See Ferro-fluids.) Magnetic particles commonly known as Ferromagnetic particles. all contain elements or compounds of iron, cobalt, and nickel at ambient temperature and pressure.
Rust inhibitors rely on the surface energy difference between the substrate and the fluid to "wet".
"A lower surface energy material, such as water, will spontaneously wet out a higher energy surface, such as the un-waxed hood of a car. A waxed hood, however, has a lower surface energy than water. The water beads up rather than wet out, reducing its contact area with the surface." {Quoted from: https://www.adhesives.org/adhesives.../structural-design/surface-energy-and-wetting)
If you have a sufficiently low surface energy liquid, think surfactants, oils, and solvents, "wetting" and "creep" can be achieved on 99% of substrates. WD-40 (TM) has a very low surface energy. The ability of a fluid to "adhere" to a surface has to do with strength of the molecular bonds between the two materials. Magnetism has nothing to do with it.

ok i don't think i have ever treated my glass with anything ever, if there is something good to repel hard water spots that would be great to have!

Carry on, keep an eye on the spots that you have treated, and let us know how it works. You're good.

I'm sure @Shellshock was just being facetious.

It's impressive how clean you have kept that truck!

Keep doing your best, and drive that thing as long as you want to!

When you get sick of fighting the rust, or start losing the battle, trade it in for shiny new one. You deserve it for putting so much effort into preserving that '97

i did find i had some FF sprayed underneath the cab on passenger side so
tried to move it with 100psi air blasts and it did not budge much at all, it kind of stayed put

how is FF supposed to 'heal' itself if it does not move much?
