    What’s up with this “shortest day of the year” shit?

    December 21st is not only the shortest day of the year but also the first day of winter.

    However, earlier this month the sun was going down 4-5 minutes earlier than it is today. What gives?!?!

    I am currently watching another of my favorite childhood Disney movies, The Aristocats, which was released in 1970. I saw it for the first time in 1994 or 1995, when my Grandma bought it on VHS for me and my cousins to watch when we visited her.

    The movie takes place in Paris, France in 1910. The main characters are three kittens and their mothers. Their owner is a wealthy retired opera singer, and her attorney Georges a yellow 2-seat speedster.

    What’s funny is that Georges mentions that he is over 80 years old, which means he was his 60s or 70s when “horseless carriages” started to appear in France. I don’t know when France started requiring actual driver’s licenses, but since the UK didn’t start requiring road tests until after WWII, I highly doubt an eccentric old Parisian attorney had one in 1910...
