Love this mod

 

KTJO 4x4 - if I just want to have the plug loose in my center console, do you have any suggestions on the type of plug to use. Could I just connect to a shorten extension cord? Any special considerations on the connectors? Just heat shrink? Thank you.

 

I am assuming that since I can’t find any pictures of the main plugs install that once I get the console off (which I’ve done before) that where the plugs go will be obvious once I get that far. I think this is a magnificent mod and will be ordering as soon as I have enough budget surplus to make it work. Hopefully this week.

They are not the best pics of the hook up, but they should give you a feel for where things go once you're in there.The plugs only hook up one way at the inverter.

 

I was so motivated to get this done, I ordered extra parts.

Anybody want one of these? Best price I can find is $36 shipped free from Amazon. Willing to let it go for $25 shipped usps to conus.

I went with the larger setup with usb.

UPDATE:

Sample Extension Harnesses should be arriving soon. Once I give the ok I will soon place the order and have them in stock

This was the first take of making the Harness





Then I had then extend the Wrap and put a shorter section of Heat Shrink over the ends just to secure them. Here’s a new pic of just that.



I’m excited to receive them so I can give the official go ahead and place the order. Getting close people to having these. Package two and three are close too. Just trying to locate the Junction Connector in Bulk. It’s been rather difficult for some reason.

 

I would like to add a plug in the cab but keep the inverter operation factory (ie: auto switching between 100w/400w). Is this option available or would I be able to modify your harness to allow this.

Also I see you have two harnesses. Power outlet harness with red ground terminal and Power outlet harness JST2 etc. What is the difference, do I need both? I didnt see this in the op, sorry If I missed something

 

The first one is for the Inverter that gives your the Anytime and the the one is for the Power Outlet PNP Harness.
As for keeping it OEM, I’m sure you can do that, you would have to figure that part out, I never cared too much to keep it that way so I never bothered to play around with it myself. As it stands right now, that is not an option.

They look great!!! One minor change, just with the one end connector getting changed to a female, while leaving the other end as is with the male. However, everything else looks good to go. I will be getting ready to place an order for these so I will soon have them in stock. Then in will be off to Package 2 & 3 Which has already been started. Here I have them pictured with the PNP In-Cab AC 120V 400W Power Outlet Harness.

PACKAGE 2 & 3 - “2nd & 3rd Gen IN-CAB AC 120V 400W POWER OUTLET Kit” for those members that are not wanting to take the time to mod their own Wiring Harnesses and would rather purchase them ready to install. To qualify for these options you need to be able have the ability to remove your Center Console, as well as, a couple other parts such as the shift knob to have access to your OEM Inverter that is located directly underneath. This is where you will connect the PNP Harness that is in PACKAGE 1 of this Kit. These are true “Plug-N-Play” Packages that will directly connect to Two or Three Brand New TOYOTA OEM IN-CAB AC 120V 400W POWER OUTLETS (Part No. 85530-35050-C0)









Here are some samples I threw together real quick in one night just so I could send some quick pics to my vendor of what I had in mind for the rest of the Kit. I do apologize in advance, I ran out of Heat Shrink in the smaller size so they are not complete but you will get the idea of what they will be just like my vendor did. I have yet to make it to the store to get more in order to complete them and it hasn’t been a priority of mine since my vendor doesn’t need me to based on the fact that they get it without me doing so

These are my thoughts moving forward for PACKAGE 2 & 3 ADD-ON:

PLUG-N-PLAY DUAL & TRIPLE IN-CAB AC 120V 400W POWER OUTLET HARNESS



To make this sample I just removed the Blue and White Wire I had in one of the messed up 12” Harnesses so that is why it is this length. It will be only 6” in length when complete, which is the same length as the Inverter PNP Harness Blue and White Wires. Notice that the Black JST Connector is the mate for the Inverter PNP Harness. That is because these two Wires on this Harness will plug into those two wires on that Harness for 100% Plug-N-Play. These two wires will get finished off with wrap and heat shrink on both ends to make a complete look.

Now you ask, well if you take that Inverter PNP Harness JST Black Connector away, what do we use now for our Outlet Connections. Well there are two things: (1) Junction Block and (2) Power Outlet Wire Pigtail Connections.

My Vendor is trying to locate this but we haven’t been able to as of yet. If we are not successful, this may be something if I’m not able to purchase in bulk from Toyota, I ask customers to get. I’m hoping that I will be able to purchase them in bulk and it won’t be an issue. However, just a little heads up in advance.

POWER OUTLET WIRE PIGTAIL CONNECTIONS





This is the complete look at what these Pigtail Connections will look like. Each one of these will be for one Power Outlet Connection. Each PLUG-N-PLAY DUAL & TRIPLE IN-CAB AC 120V 400W POWER OUTLET HARNESS can have (3) POWER OUTLET WIRE PIGTAIL CONNECTIONS



If you notice, these Black JST Connectors are the same as the Inverter In-Cab AC 120V 400W Power Outlet Harness w/ Red (6”) Wire Grounding Terminal making it so the In-Cab AC 120V 400W Power Outlet Harness: JST 2P (5ft) Extension Harness, In-Cab AC 120V 400W Power Outlet Harness: JST 2P (10ft) Extension Harness and the In-Cab AC 120V 400W Power Outlet Harness: JST 2Pin (19”) w/ Black (19”) Wire Grounding Terminal are all still Plug-N-Play. Here is an example of how it still all comes together just with one Power Outlet (Not Pictured because I had already sent it to my Vendor is the Grey Junction Block that goes on the Middle White Connector Harness)



This Kit is 100% Plug-N-Play and you will be able to Add-On as many Power Outlets as you want 1-2-3.

There may be a couple changes to the Inverter PNP Harness when it gets made by my vendor. The Brown Connector will be White, the Red Wire will be Pink like I originally asked for it to be, the Blue and White Wire will be wrapped with Heat Shrink to match the rest of the Kit, and the Grounding Terminal will be open so that you can use any size grounding bolt and you are not limited to just the one location/size.

 

Super awesome mod and write up! I love things that are plug and play. So much cleaner so much simpler and can always be reverted. I was wondering if there is any bezel options for the 2nd gen guys with the silver/grey colored interior. Does anyone have pictures of an install with the black bezel on the grey interior?
