I’ve done my reading and also work in an industry directly tied to commodities and the building industry. People were completely blindsided with the last crash and it will be no different this time

What is the current sentiment amongst homebuilders? Also, tell me how people's investments have fared since 2008 if they didn't sell? In fact, it only took about 2 years to fully recover even if you were 100% in equities. Only fools try to time the market.

Yes. And all the people that panicked and took their money out after the crash, locked in their losses. Everyone who was patient saw the market bounce back and run away to crazy highs.

So what’s the consensus? Watch it all disappear and sit back and watch it come back again ?

Which is why it's EXTREMELY important to read the fine print..........or ask if the loan is based on "simple interest." There should NEVER be "more interest skimmed from the front of the loan." Interest should remain the same for the length of the loan.

When was the last time the market went to zero? When it pulls back, buy more. The stock market seems to be the only market in the world where when things go on sale, few want to buy.

I look at the stock market as a bouncing ball on an escalator. It's always been up over a long enough time horizon and IIRC, the longest period you had to wait to make your money back was about 15 years after the great depression of 29. But think about how different times were then, how easily the system could be manipulated and how hard it was to get information back then.

The first part of this sentence in not congruent with the last part.

I have a 2019 purchased new, not a penny down with an interest rate of 2.9%..60 months.....You must have a REALLY long term?

Anyway, pay off the loan and reap an instant 4 and 3/4 percent return on your savings.....

We did 84 months in for safety knowing I’d pay it off early. Kinda dumb in hindsight
