The adjustment area near where it slides into the sheathing can be coated with fluid film. Since doing this mine don’t freeze. Back in the day when they did I’d just pop the clutch in reverse and it would thunk right out

 

I’ll have to see if I missed that area. My truck is absolutely bathed in Fluid Film.

What was weird is I could move in reverse in 2WD even but I couldn’t move forward. I didn’t have a ton of room to back up but it wasn’t releasing, even playing with the brakes on and off.

I think yanking the brake lines ultimately got it free.

 

I was told by service manager at Ford dealer to never use e-brake in freezing temps.

 

I use my E-brake every day.

 

I had a car when it was below freezing, the strut mounts rattled like crazy. Had them replaced and the rattling stopped.

 

I'm used to next to no traffic on the way home and absolutely none on the way in. It's a beautiful thing

 

I never use mine. Auto or manual, I never use mine unless I'm parked in a very precarious position.

 

Grease the slip yoke.

 

I see very little, and for a short time. I drive four exits

 

Anyone else see the new Star Wars? Saw it Friday with my nephew..

 

I drive less than 2 miles to work. Sometimes I don't see a single car on the way in.

Unfortunately, this is the busiest time for me and the people I help. Holidays are very emotional for a lot of people.

 

Good morning Rob and all the others. I am working today, probably a short day tomorrow and then won't be back until Friday. Although I don't know why, nothing is going to happen Friday in construction.
