315s.... 1 sec left me catch back up lol.

I used to have 285/65/18, but went up a little in height, and 10mm thinner.

 

Yup. Trying to put my truck back together after a few horrible mistakes.

 

How does the truck handle with those?

Stock gearing and ~34" tires aren't fun on pavement.

 

Yea thats fair lol, and i dont know that i have as many questions as i do concerns. If I were to go 285s it would be purely for looks, but idk if i wanna sacrifice a perfectly good trucks for better looming tires

 

I wouldn't go up a size unless you want the look and are willing to take the milage hit or you need them as a tool on the trails to get you further easier.

 

Honestly it's the height that really impacts fuel economy... The width does a little, but height and weight are the major factors.

 

Ok, i plan on keeping the truck for as long as possible so later on when i have an actual job and im not just a college student i can maybe afford to do gears and all that

 

Being that you are a student with other responsibilities.... I wouldn't even consider it though. Toys can wait.... get through school.

 

Why the change? Looks, functionality? I’m regeared on 315. Works for me but I drive 20 miles round trip a day at most... I’ve already thought of going back to my 265s for daily driving and just swapping back before trips. I get about a week and a few days on a tank, but I’m also driving a tank fully steel armored with full spare, bed rack and a decked system.

 

For those that don't know, the first number is the width, in millimetres.
The second number is the height, represented as a percentage of the width.
Third is the size of the wheel.

 

This forum is the reason I stay up at night dreaming about taco parts, but its good people like you that bring me back to earth hahaha

 

Assuming stock wheels throw on a set of spacers torqued down properly and you’ll feel better for a bit! Or do as the old wiseman says and wait!
