Good Afternoon TW, My family and I may be moved to the DFW area this spring. I am in Dallas 4-5 times a year for work but rarely explore neighborhoods. Thoughts on where I should transplant a family with 2 kids (5 and 2)? I am currently looking at Benbrook area? Is this a nice location to raise a family?

Traffic is a concern, Benbrook has good and bad sections but being SW of Fort Worth it's a long commute if you work somewhere in Dallas or NE Tarrant.

Aledo area is nice with good schools and a straight shot into downtown Fort Worth. Will you be working in Dallas or Fort Worth after the move.

I live in Burleson, just south of Ft. Worth on I35. It’s an excellent town with really good schools. Our school district just gave EVERY EMPLOYEE a year end bonus. Really cool! I have a sophomore and 7th grader, and I can’t say enough good things about our schools. We love it here. We moved away for about a year and then moved back 16 years ago and won’t be leaving again. This is home. Holler at me if you have any questions at all and I can point you in the right direction. I know a lot of realtors too.

DFW is a large place, As others have said what area are you working in? traffic can be a pain. i live Northish of dallas and if I had to drive into dallas for work from where I live I would hate life because traffic is so bad. Luckily I dont drive into dallas so I dont have to deal with it and the traffic I hit isnt bad. I think @Naveronski is near benbrook and might be able to give some input.

Thank you everyone for your feedback!

I work in the Aerospace Industry and will be a local sales rep. So I will have the freedom to decide my commute. I will also have some say on where the facility is. It is good to know about the good and not so good areas. I have had several suggestions about Burleson. Thank you for the Aledo suggestion. I will look into it.

We will be transplanting from the Pacific Northwest.

I’m serious, any questions at all and I’m happy to be “boots on the ground” here for you. We also have plenty of room in the area for a facility. I have a friend who is the Economic Development manager for the city. I could facilitate a conversation if need be.
