I think that's a bit of an exaggeration. I haven't had my truck long but, diff howl aside since I haven't experienced that yet, my vents (double cab) aren't bad at all.

The vents got bigger in the 3G, compared to the 2G because more and larger air bags require more air to be evacuated from the cabin in a hurry. The air bags need to expand very fast to keep your face off the dashboard.

This video also shows the front cab-mount, that guys like to chop, doing it’s job of keeping that passenger wheel from entering the cab and crushing the passenger’s legs.

My doors still close normally and my defroster still works fine after my modification. I try my best not to test the air bags but I suspect that a sudden change in pressure is going to blow air past the door seals. Just ask all of the people on this forum who have experienced the cross wind howl and water leaks how well sealed the doors are.

I can tell you that in my access cab, turning the recirculate button on (which shuts off the fresh air intake and causes the rear vents to close) does sound like you just closed an open window. That's a good way to test if your rear vents are the source of noise you might be hearing.

The rear vents by the way are a thin rubber flap that lifts open when there is air from the interior trying to escape and lay closed when there is no interior air pressure causing them to open.

    Stock for now.. maybe
So I work in Alaska (pretty much as far north and central you can get). We don't have Tacomas as work vehicles but i will say every year we always have several windows blow out while shutting doors, usually the back window. I imagine during winter the vents get Iced up and summer maybe filled from dusty roads? Just a guess but I figure it definitely has to do with the pressure and air not being able to flow properly. I like the foam c channel idea. For those that have them completely plugged on purpose maybe not a good idea. Might be ok for now or for awhile but eventually you might bust a window, especially if your vehicle seals well

Edit.. maybe just an northern states problem. Just a bit of input from me. Enjoy your trucks

I’ve had the foam over mine for two years and other than my ears popping when I fart it’s been fine:eek::anonymous:. Haven’t tried the air bag thing, I think I’ll take my chances with that.

I thought about the countless victims with the window locks on.. fighting for oxygen.

    Hope is gone..

I want to see them do this with the TSS sensors on see if it does anything, unlike the guy that drove into cardboard boxes
