Visiting over the next few weeks to scout potentially moving. Any recommendations?

Franklins - Not worth the wait time for a week visit. I'm sure it's good, but I've had good BBQ before and not wanting to waste 6 hours of a vacation to wait for BBQ. Probably planning to walk around the city mostly, check out a few dog parks.

PS what is traffic really like? That's all everyone ever complains about, but I'm used to Boston/Providence. I hate bumper to bumper, I have a 15 minute commute and it's great - but is traffic really that bad or is it just a buncha whiners?

Depends which way you going and at what time. My office is 3.1 miles from my home.. I dont deal with traffic hardly, ever.

That being said, coming down mopac in rush hour you could be there from 30min to 1.5hrs

I moved from LA. I do not consider the "traffic" here to be bad, but I am also worst to a literal hell of gridlock. There is nothing more frustrating than sitting through multiple cycles of green lights since the car in front of you cannot move out of the way.

I had a 15 mile, 2 hour commute. My coworkers complain about a 10 mile, 30-40 min commute. Seems that it just depends on where you are going and when. There are slow downs at rush hour and it looks like the bridges get pretty backed up, but I think if you can avoid the hot times, you'll be just fine. I've driven around a decent amount and haven't been very annoyed.

As I said though, take that with a grain of salt as I am a broken man... haha

What about bikes? I ride bikes a lot and willing to ride to work, if that gets me there. City seems pretty flat.
