Fuck man. I almost jumped on your old man bandwagon until you mentioned punch cards. Double siding floppies was jaw dropping at the time.

That, and the few copy programs that floated around for the very early protections. It was a fun time. Any racing game or flight sim was my jam, and the glory days of staring at the box art in the stores.

funny, so i did actually have a little experience with punch card reels with my dad. he was required to write a program for his master's back in the early 70's and assigned him to the mainframe to do it. which ran on card reels and he took me on the weekends when he had his assigned time. damn you dug up some cobwebs with that one.

I sold my Vic 20 to get my 64, then sold my 64 to get my Osborne II. Don't know what I did with the Osborne at the end, prolly a boat anchor...

But what I STILL have to this day is my very Mint condition (my 1st computer) TRS 80 Pocket Computer with the cassette tape interface. Rocking a full blown 8k RAM and a 1024 char x 1 line LED screen. Did I mention it's in mint condition, with the original case and manual.

It does, but increases horsepower so it's a wash...the Ti gives more HP and impacts mpg less...so, you know.

 

Unmeasurable, but technically yes.

Toss it at your windshield for better results.

We were required to buy the Ti-81 at college. I think our daughters are required to still use Ti-83s in HS, mainly because the SAT committee allows them to only use that type.

I thought mine might have a been a Sharp, but it is not coming up in an easy search. Your TRS was really nice.

Never even heard of the Osborne. It looks cool. Most of the folks that I know lusted after the Amigas after the Commodores. I had a really good NLQ dot matrix printer that I used through most of college with the Commodore for reports. Only in my last year did I finally get a PC. I was sooooo fucking useless with Excel until then.

Those show MT knobs, but with V2's the AT its essentially the same thing with different mounting threads.

 

You can draw on these but it impedes their function...

 

So, when will heated knobs be available? Grabbing the stainless steel without gloves after a night in the single digits is... unpleasant.

 

I think grabbing anything in the vehicle is unpleasant after a night like that. The Delrin ring sure helps, but yeah gloves even still.

I am scratch building a new control for my milling machine though, going from this off-the-shelf (unreliable) unit,


to something like this when I am done.

With the level of knowledge gained, I may have a few ideas in the end. (I have a professional control systems engineer helping me out, pretty stoked honestly).
