@TomTwo I can't completely know what you are going thru but my dad had CLL, my mom breast cancer, & I had renal cell carcinoma. None of that was any good. Chemo kicked my mom's & dad's ass. Dad lived with the lukemia for 10 yrs(7 longer than he should have). I was lucky that they were able to remove my left kidney, lymph nodes and adrenal glands. It's been 3 yrs 10 months cancer free for me. I wish you the same good luck I had. I'm not a proponent of it but maybe smoking a fat one would help the nausea? :notsure:

I was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma first then found out I had renal cell carcinoma three weeks later. My tumor was removed from my kidney and the kidney was saved. I do the chemo as a maintenance to try and keep the Multiple Myeloma from coming back ( it will come back we just do not know how long before it does) it's all good.

My dad passed away about 14 yrs ago. In 1997 is when he came down with CLL. They found it by accident. He used to donate blood as often as they would take him. The first time they turned him down, the nurse said he probably just had a bug. On the 2nd time they turned him down, he went in for testing. He did chemo every 12 months for 6 weeks. He never lost his hair, but severe nausea, etc. I don't remember his WCB count, but it was high. Always had a fever. He worked in the oilfield for 30+ yrs. Almost sure it was from the different chemicals used in the 70's-80's.
It may sound crazy, but positive thoughts man. It kept me from getting bent out of shape. I never let it get me down. But I've been told I'm kind of a hard ass.

Glad your RCC wasn't that bad. They thought they would have to remove part of the liver and spleen. My kidney was covered and the size of a football. It was supposed to be four 3/4" incisions(non-invasive), ended up with a 8" gash. I only had to go thru steroid treatments, dye test and MRI's. No radiation or chemo. I suffered for 2 years before they figured it out. Now I only go every 6 months for check ups. I consider myself lucky.

That was lucky, My kidney tumor was the size of a golf ball and they told me it was about 5 years old very slow growing. The Dr. thinks I have had the Multiple Myeloma about 10 years before it showed it's ugly head 3 years ago. I have a thread in the health section if you would like to read it.

I'm a simple guy. I do not know anything about counseling. I do know the better attitude you have, the better you will be.
I was the guy that the doctor told me 95% chance it was cancer and I still said well I have a 5% chance that it's not.
I'm sure thousands of people can be helped through this with counseling.

This one asked a bunch of questions about family history of different types of cancer. Then we discussed the different types. I decided to go ahead with genetic testing to see if I’m at a higher disposition of having any of them.
