Not much but this is my fruit patch.
have blackberries to the right, aronia berries to the left, apple trees x6, two peaches, 3 pear and one cherry. Plan on putting more apples in.

We just had a long heat wave. The Gogi berries love the heat. There were no ripe fruit on the bush a few days ago.

These pickled okra turned out great. The red peppers give them just the right kick. And pretty crunchy.

Time for the garden to go to bed for the season. I'll cover it with a layer of compost and garden soil and it will
    rest until spring.

In NE OK, with a month to go, we stand a good chance of having the highest annual rainfall since they started keeping records in 1888. It's been pretty amazing.

Well my overall thoughts on this season...

It was the first time I had used the raised metal tubs and at first I thought it would be an easier way. When we went to plant stuff I realized I had bought to many plants and over crowded the planters. Then the “heat” came on and I had to try and learn how to keep things cooler so they wouldn’t bolt on me. I lost a lot of lettuce and broccoli because of it bolting.

It’s bitter sweet for me to say that we have our house on the market so I wont get another crack at the raised bed garden idea at this place, but someday I might be able to start something again. Cheers :cheers:and thanks for letting me be part of this thread and bounce ideas off you all!

Just dug out the last of my carrots yesterday, before today's snow. Got a 5 gallon bucket, which is in addition to what we've been eating for the last 2 months or so, which probably worked out to another 5 gallon bucket. Mulched the parsnips and garlic in good shape to help keep the critters out of them, but that's about all I'll be doing with the garden for the next 5 months or so...

I usually blanch and then freeze them. I've never cared for the texture of canned carrots.

I do pickle some, but we're talking about probably 20lbs of carrots here...

Most of them get blanched and frozen for side dishes with meals over the winter.

Pickle them and give them to all your relatives for Christmas. That's what I do.
