What's the difference between stock and aftermarket acrylic amber sidemarker?

Aftermarket blinks faster then the other and hence makes you turn faster too, most importantly gives you 2.3 horsepower more.:drevil:

The “acrylic amber” pieces you see listed are turn signal covers, as seen in the photo.

Is it possible to just lightly tint the turn signal bucket and the high beam bucket? I would run the switchback drl’s as well as a bright led turn signal Bulb. Also, I want the blacked out look but the ability to have 4 high beams would be badass.

Tint will definitely reduce the efficiency. Turn signal should be OK if you put a high output led in, but high beam bucket will be pretty useless. Also, it’s a little tricky to tint chrome.

Any updates on performance with the Morimoto d2s 5.0 in now as opposed to the RX350? Also when are you taking orders?

I won’t be putting out any actual comparison between the two. There’s plenty of info out there on YouTube and hidplanet, and probably lightwerkz’ ig/Facebook pages.

The 5.0’s are awesome, you’d be splitting hairs to find any real differences between them and the other top tier projector.

I’ll be taking orders in a couple weeks, frantically catching up on orders right now before I take more.

I’ve been looking at any pics online that I can find but it’s somewhat hard to tell...

How pronounced is the blue tint on the new morimoto 5.0 projectors (when they’re off)? Does it look different in different lighting?

It sounds like performance is about the same as the RX350s with the anti-reflective coating being a main difference aesthetically. I’m wondering if it will look a lot less OEM than a non-tinted projector as I’m going for a very OEM look overall.

I dont find it to be super noticeable, really wouldn’t use the word pronounced at all. I personally think it adds to the look, but that’s just personal preference.

All three of these lights have the 5.0’s and you can hardly see any blue. It’s more noticeable when the light is hitting them just right. It definitely doesn’t take away from an “oem” look in my opinion. Plenty of oem lights (ram being the most noticeable that I’ve seen) have the same coating.

Thanks for the reply. I do like that they look slightly darker nestled into a black housing. Even more so without halos (IMO). Seems the blue is more pronounced — at least in pics that I’ve found— in a chrome housing with a chrome shroud.

I’m sure the overall modifications to the assembly as a whole will look OEM and the projectors themselves will look damn sharp!

Thanks for your hard work over the holidays and for keeping us posted on progress.
