I’ve got my PT on speed dial. He’s worth his weight in gold every time I have a niggle that interferes with my training.

    Don’t mess around with shoulders.

So I forgot to prep a lunch for today. I ended up having a Chipotle chicken bowl & my ON Whey shake. My tummy is feeling all bubbly....Chipotle gets me every time. I thought if I got chicken & no hot sauce I’d be in the clear. I mean, it’s only 1 meal....and I don’t even eat there anymore....nope. It’s going to be a windy night :anonymous:

Chipotle gets me too but it’s so tasty! Did you have beans with it?

Fuck today. Called in sick but decided to go train anyway. Made it through a very heavy farmers carry/deadlift medley for comp training and just felt trashed after. I managed to finish a few accessories but not the whole plan for today.

Taking the next 2-3 days to rest and drink fluids and hopefully I'll be good to go on Friday. I hate getting sick while training for a comp

Illness does suck. I'm sorry you guys have been afflicted. I feel you guys as I took the Wednesday out sick a week ago whatever I had was able to work itself out pretty quick but it took me off a training day.

Today I made myself a workout plan checklist style in the samsung note app then executed:

    Warmup glute activation exercises:
    1. Clam raises 10 per leg
    2. Frog pumps 20 total
    3. Leg raises from 4 point stance, 10 per leg

    Meat and potatoes:
4 sets, 20 resp ea DB on chest Squats: 8lb DBs, with hip circle

    4 sets, 20 reps early OHP : 10lb DBs

4 sets, 25 reps ea Barbell row 1st 2 sets, DB row last 2 sets: 10lb DBs

3 sets, 8 reps ea Zottimer curls, 8lb DBs SLOW 6 count on eccentric curl portion

    2min situps for time

    Cool down:
Handstand work (see nerd fitness how to do a handstand, if you're interested in the plan, I am currently only on crow position and have not attempted a headstand at all yet)

Got a good sweat on, the high reps made it hard even with the low weight. Trying to stay motivated and keep pushing toward my goals even when the gym isnt equipped like I am used to and would prefer. The addiction to the post workout feeling is real, I'm hooked.

Christmas Day deadlift session for a heavy single. Hit the slowest 445 pull you’ve ever seen. 160 lb BW currently. Haven’t really tracked any kind of calories or anything in a long time, but may start back and try to work up to 175ish and see where the DL number goes. This time last year I was 172 and pulling 465.

man over the holidays it is DEAD in here.

I did my strong lifts 5x5 yesterday, app was like "you havent worked out in a week (not true I just havent done a 5x5 in a week, whatever) so deload 10%". Followed it. did squat, bench, and barbell row. No real issues, treated the weight like it was all really heavy, focused on form, and knocked them out. My squat form looks good when i video it but it feels weird to me. Idk. still getting minor hip shift and some knee cave on the last 2 reps of each set. Its frustrating. I even did my glute activations as a warmup, ergh. Oh well, I will keep trying.

After the 5x5 I did 3 sets of 2 gym laps (so 6 total laps) of DB farmer carries, hanging knee raises 3 sets of 12 reps, hip thrusts with a barbell 3 sets of 10 reps, and dead hangs (though on my 3rd and final set I failed out about halfway through).

I love the feeling that I got in there on Christmas day and got a good sweat on. Going to keep trying, even though its hard and after 8 weeks I am feeling less easy forward strides to my gains, I feel like this is probably when a lot of people quit. I am not quitting, I am acknowledging where I am, how far I've come, and and going to keep working toward my goals.
