Is there a spot to run drain tubes for this cover?

there are 3 holes in the bed right next to the cab. You could route them there, but you will need different tubes

Do the accessory rails that come on the truck get blocked or nixed with the install?

    Thanks!

the covers mounts go into the stock rails. Unless you are super creative they are blocked.

I tortured myself with all of the options. Soft...hard...retractable. Subsequently got sticker shock. The reviews were all over the board.I decided I really wanted the factory cover, but it is a factory option only. The ideal way to acquire one is to find someone who has it and is looking to replace it with a leer cover. You can swap the bed rails and hardware needed to install the factory cover. I found a man who had already installed the cap so I was unable to swap rails, etc...But, the striker plates are available from Toyota. With some easy modifications to the rails I was able to find install. $50 on craigslist. A steal.

She’s on. I give the toughness of the job 2/5 wrenches. Really the tweaking and finessing things will be the key. Surprisingly I got a nice even fit corner to corner on the first fold down. This will do for a while.

Hope it doesn't leak like my Rough Country did. I put some weather stripping all the way around the bed and hopefully this will keep most of the water out. There is no way in hell that the Rough Country will not leak as designed. Wish I had went with another brand.

Put on the Extang Trifecta 2.0 (soft tri-fold) this weekend. The back (tailgate) clamps have a lot of play in them when secured- maybe almost 2 inches. A bit of wind on the highway will certainly get under there. I tried adjusting the springs in the handle to be tighter, but if I go much more, the handle will be impossible to pull down and latch. Anyone ever use a different style of handle with better results? I remember the old style ones that would turn 90 degrees, they usually worked well.

Ugh, I had a similar incident with my Ram 1500 cover several years ago. Ordered an Extang gen 1 from Etrailer.com. The gen 1 was aluminum shell with honeycom inners. It arrived with a forklift fork puncture right through one of the panels. They were excellent in making it right and sent a new one out before the damaged one was picked up. The second one arrived fine. Shout out to Etrailer.com for their excellent customer service.

My new LoMax for the Tacoma arrived in perfect condition. I lose sleep between the time I place the order and the when it arrives. It is a large item that requires a bit of special handling and my confidence in it making the trip unscathed is pretty low. It's a gamble. Hope yours made it OK despite the box condition.

I have the exact same cover and have no issues with that much play. I also had the same cover on my 2012 with no issues. I get the latches really tight and then slide them over directly next to the latch point and pull down with both hands and clip them on. The only thing I’m not happy about is the length of the cover. On my old truck, it almost covered the entire bed and I never had any leaks. On the 2020, the tailgate is a lot wider and I end up getting water in from the gaps at the corners.

Thanks for the info about yours- how do you get the latches tight? I think I have the nuts tightened as much as they'll allow. Extang customer service was great and sent me two new latches. They said it sounds like a defect. I'm hoping when I replace them, plus add the Max Seal, the water issue is reduced.

Pretty sure I just spun them clockwise to tighten until I got them where I wanted.

Weather OEM or Aftermarket it all depends upon want style you want. OEM are not manufactured by Toyota itself. They use different manufactures depending upon the style. Usually the more money, the nicer the cover. I am happy with my basic roll up TUXEDO brand Tonneau purchased from Auto Anything.

Ok, you have me feeling better about things, because that didn't work at all- and it means it must be the product, not me. I'll get the replacement ones on next weekend and they should be just fine.

You do know the latches that are attached to the truck bed rails are adjustable also, right?

You probably just solved my problem. Thank you. I put them on like this, because I wanted as little overhang to cut my hands or somehow bump a body part on as possible. I’m guessing the lower level is probably where you have yours.
