I’m wanting to get a set of new wheels. I’m looking for the wider stance, bigger rim look. The only off road these will really see is beach sand and hunting trails.

    I have a 19 TRD 4x4 with a 3” LRO 3/2 kit.
I want Fuel D576 Assault tire and Ridge Grappler tires. I’m undecided on a couple of things: Wheel and tire size and tire type.
    Option 1: 18x9 -13 with a 285/60/18 ridge grappler.
    Option 2: 20x10 -19 with a 275/55/20.
There are 2 different Ridge Grapplers, the LT E rated and the XL rated. I can’t think of a great reason to go with the more expensive, heavier LT tire. I tow my zero turn and a 10’ trailer, that’s about the heaviest I’d tow. No rock climbing or serious off roading happening here.

I appreciate any thoughts and personal experiences with this!

The lower the aspect ratio the firmer (or maybe harsher) the ride quality.

Any rubbing with that set up? How’s the ride?

Only minor rubbing with minor trimming, really don’t notice the trimming unless you know what to look for, the ride is good, but 18” wheel/tire combo would probably ride a little better..... but its all about what you want for looks and performance. For me I have a mall crawler for the most part. Only have 4wd for insurance to get to work or get home in bad weather.

    3 different tires?
Here's what the inflation would be for each if it makes a difference.
    LT285/60/18/122 37psi/1,959lbs
    285/60/18/120XL 27 psi/2,175lbs
    275/55/20/117 26 psi/2,183lbs

Tacomas come with a recommended PSI to obtain a 2,149 lb load capacity from P and euro metric tires. For LT tires, it requires a PSI to obtain a 1,954 lbs load capacity.
When you change the size and/or load rating, PSI needs to be adjusted to obtain the same load capacity.

Yep, pretty stuck on those. Seen them on a few Tacomas, they look great! Not really into the “vintage” or overlander look.

Just wanted to give an update for future search purposes. I had a hard time finding an answer searching through TW about this size and fitment.
I installed the Low Range Off-road 3/2 “leveling kit”. Im about 3/4” higher in the rear which is perfect for hauling loads and trailering.
I bought the 18x9 -12 rims and went with 285/65/18 Ridge Grapplers load E.
I get no rubbing, even at full lock. That may change under compression in an off road scenario, but so far so good!
The Alignment went very smooth , and was able to get Toe and Camber near perfect and set Caster at +2 on each side.
I know leveling kits and 18s are not the flavor of choice for this forum, but this will work perfectly for my needs! I’ll go by the mall later and make sure I don’t have any problems in the parking lot.
