Do I need to replace my Mass Airflow Sensor?

Hi guys, today I did the deckplate mod.

When I removed the mass Airflow Sensor, I noticed the tip looks brown/burnt. Is that normal?

usually there will be a crud buildup on the tip and the shaft down— like this:

...then use the maf cleaner to make it look like the one you have above. Check regularly

 

If you have a hot air intake it will look like that

There are also “wires” in the MAF sensor, at the bottom of vertical tube that should be cleaned.

 

I reset the EFI after re-installing the CAI box by pulling a 20AMP fuse in n out (Did this for 10 seconds at most, not sure if it has to stay out for a while). I have my OBDII scanner somewhere around the home but I can't find it.

The car is acting weird, I have to turn the ignition key twice since the first time it stalls. After the car starts, If I accelerate or force the car too much it starts to "stall" or "pull back", not sure how to describe it.

It might be newish, bought the car a little over a year ago.

The thing with the dark brown bulb isn't what you need to clean. It's actually the wires pictured in post #7 that sense the amount of air coming into your intake.

 

I wonder if you're sucking in un metered Air upstream from the Mass Air Flow Sensor
