How does it look with polarized glasses?

I am interested but New York here so I would need the projection of the HUD to be higher than where my registration and inspection sticker go.

 

Just get a piece of acylic and stick it to the windshield behind the stickers. If you use black then you wont see the stickers from the inside, but will see the hud.

Just make sure you get shiny acrylic.

 

Visibility would most likely be heavily reduced or no longer visible.
Most HUDs make use of glare and reflection to project an image.
Polarized glasses main function is to eliminate glare and reflection...
So it is either one or the other.

I guess if they do make a polarized glasses friendly version, it would be a HUD only visible with the glasses on.

 

I was thinking of pre paying soon but was curious if this is 12+ months out, 6 months out 1 month out or all above and simply not known yet?

 

Will the unit have an On/Off button ? Just in case you didn’t want it on.

 

In for more information about this, also on whether the factory tweeter needs to be moved? (I didn’t see an answer to this question)

 

The factory tweeter will be covered up it seems, maybe they can make the final product have some holes to allow sound to get out.

But, if you go to your local home depot and find the plexi glass. Then using your phone as a screen find the color that reflects your phone the best (just hold your phone at a angle to the plexi) Getting a solid dark color would probably be best, but a clear would be fine too, you would just see inspection stickers behind it.

 

The prototype doesn't have the holes, but the final should have the mesh like holes for the tweeter.
The unit sits slightly on top of the tweeters, so it should not be completely blocking the sound.

Yep. The cool thing about this is, it frees up the little screen in the instrument cluster to whatever else you want to switch to instead of keeping an eye on speedo, mileage and regular defaults finally. I can't wait to get my hands on mine.

But you can replace the entune start and screensaver images.... just in case you weren’t aware.

Yes, I even said the little screen in the instrument cluster so as to not confuse with the nav screen on the central head unit.

 

I was thinking that perhaps you could stick the Reflective film over the sticker because I was looking at it today and it looks like it is solid white on the outside in order to mirror the image but my vendor is looking at options for this currently. I did inform them about the registration sticker in this area. We do have options it’s just which option we want to go with.

 

Well my vendor is about to go on a 3 week holiday break. There whole country does this where everything gets shut down. So...after that I will know more. I did just make all the display changes right before the break with him and I’ll see if I can maybe to a mock up on my own of what I came up with. It will be nothing like their drawings obviously but it will give you an idea of what I’m thinking. What I don’t know is if they are going to want to send me a new sample of this display because I made so many changes or if they are going to be good to go. I did add a clock within the display tho so we will have a display clock that will be on it

 

Yes. There is a button on the display where you can turn it off if you want the display off
