53 pages of this and counting? Have you ladies figured out who's got the bigger dicks yet? Is it Tacoma or Ranger owners?

My vote is Tacoma since this is Tacoma world and Ford sucks.

We need a poll (no pun intended towards your comment).

If they had free Ford Friday I’d still pass.

I admit I’m unknowledgeable about Ford and their performance mods.

Interesting—the exact opposite of what Subaru would do—allow a dealer to install something AM and warranty it.

That said, a couple of points...on the FPP website that is linked to, it says performance gain of 35 HP, not 50–I think it is essentially the same engine as the Mustang EcoBoost? It requires Premium, which is $.40 more per gallon and worsens gas mileage. It costs $800+.

As far as warranty, in theory Ford will honor if installed by a dealer for 3 years/36K miles only, not the full 6-year Powertrain warranty.

It doesn’t impress me one way or the other. I wouldn’t get one for HP alone. I prefer a manual transmission, so not interested in the Ranger anyway. Thanks for the info though.

I was merely trying to remember the numbers sorry it wasn’t a direct quote ha ha. Obviously nothing impresses you.

Yeah, I still have my '93 T4R. Love the good old ones where removal of the oil filter can be done so easy...and the oil runs down the side of the engine block, draining into the crossmember, and drips for about three days on either your lawn or on a piece of cardboard laid in your driveway. And you HOPE the wind does not blow it away.

Yes, figured out: Current-generation Ranger owners have mons pubis and wear their wife's mom jeans.

Probably the Ranger owners. We talk too much on this forum to have much more than a sock ball down under.

Yea must be rangers. I can’t believe how many Tacoma owners I can meet in British Columbia Canada with fully decked out lifted, steel bumpers, RTT, recovery gear Tacoma’s. And I get excited and go over for a chat and ask where they like to go off-road and camp and they say “oh this truck isn’t for off-roading” or a guy I worked with for a while same things gets a new 19 limited and I said hey man let me know if you want me to show you some killer trails to get to fishing spots and he said “this truck will never go off-road. I bought it for towing my boat.”. Sooooo you buy the most capable off-road truck and least capable towing truck to tow and not off-road :annoyed:. No wonder so many people complain about the Tacoma lol! Once again shitty owner not truck!

Reminds me of that time that Rachel bought a gun dog, she doesn't hunt birds, just $18 lunches at some hipster joint.

Sure it’s the most capable off-road, but it’s also a very versatile truck that does tow (within limits), has a decent ride, nice tech and reasonable (not great) gas mileage. Other trucks may do better in one or the other, but the complete package...

Of course mine is not outfitted as described.

On a somewhat related note, want to guess what percentage of owners of decked-out Jeeps have ever used their ginormous recovery jacks? I bet it’s less than 5%. Talk about compensating for something...

Yeah I’m hard to impress. The Ranger wasn’t available at dealers when I got my Taco, otherwise I might have checked it out and would have a different opinion. I configured one on their website, and it seemed to be quite a bit more expensive to get the items I wanted in my OffRoad. Maybe the current discounts will make up for that.

I hope they and the Colorado do reasonably well—that will give Toyo an incentive to up their game, everybody wins!

Don’t get my wrong I love my Tacoma and couldn’t picture a more perfect truck! But I knew what I was buying when I bought. It’s never going to tow like a full size or get MPG of a Prius. It’s not luxury as a Audi or fast as a mustang. Doesn’t mean it’s not perfect. At least the people buying rangers for the most part are people who want “race trucks” or “road princesses” which is what that truck is good for. My Tacoma has never let me down but actually impressed me with everything I have ever asked it to do! Tacoma’s are the best most Tacoma owners are the worst!

The whole "race truck" is the only reason I'd buy a ranger. Since it has an engine designed for a turbo you can squeeze a lot more out of it W/O hurting it. Other than that IMHO it looks like a guppy and has a hideous rake to it. Seats are comfy though.

My wife owns a Tesla, and I plan on keeping my Tacoma forever. When the tech arrives I plan on converting my taco over to electric. There are already companies out there making kits.

If I drove a focus I'd trade in on a Ranger tomorrow.

I admit I wasn’t a fan but liked the Raptor version. It’s slowly starting to grow on me like the 3rd gen Tacoma. Here’s mine as she sits now. Raptor grill up front with sport wheels and 255/75 duratracs. Just ordered a stage one Icon set up to level it out. Also a pic of a truck I really like.
