yup, I still think the Tacoma looks better but not going back to the turd gen transmission revving up to 5000rpm for no reason and being stuck there until you slow down significantly or increase significantly.

I’m lucky mine has never had the tranny issues a lot of people have mentioned. And I was being serious when I said each to there own. I love the look of the Fj Cruiser and most of my friends think they look silly. I’m glad ford brought out a truck to compete so people who don’t like the Tacoma can get something they are happy with too. The looks of the Ranger do little for me and maybe it will grow on me one day also, but till then I’m stoked with my Tacoma and couldn’t be happier and hope you are in the same boat.

ya, I really like the FJ Cruiser too if done up right and matching top color. Not a fan of the two tone. Ya, I really wish the Tacoma worked out for me because then I wouldn’t have traded it in for a 06 Tundra which I loved but ended up having t-case and 4wd issues which were spendy repairs.

Consider yourself lucky. Brought into the dealer and they had it for almost a week. They talked to Toyota Engineers and said it’s normal behavior at elevation and every truck on the lot does the same thing. There’s a reason OVtune is so popular on here.

I would pay more money than I'm proud to admit for an actual Toyota version of this. That's the FJ version of "we want a wrangler with a bed"

I too owned four Tacomas. They were all great except the 2016. Too many issues for a Toyota. The Ranger vs Tacoma ..sorry boys The Ranger wins that one easily. On EVERY metric. Yeah Tacoma is all face and no power. Looks great though trying to pass a VW. I am glad I have an OPEN mind. Not buried in Toyotas fan club.

I'm still holding out when the new Tacoma turbo is released and the Ranger is getting a complete redesign then as well. May the best truck win. Today its the Ranger hands down.

Nah. Guys who are drinking get nostalgic for their good ol’ Toyotas. A few drinks in and they are regretting selling them.

It’s fellas smoking dank lettuce that start coming up with crazy ideas like the New Ranger is the answer to their bro prayers, and ludicrous shit like that.

Does it count if I get nostalgic for my good ol yota but I haven't sold it yet? Still sitting in my driveway?

Not gonna lie though, been reading about the upcoming GR Yaris. 250+hp, AWD, 6MT, <3k lbs, all from a 1.6L turbo THREE cylinder.

    Swoon.

If that ever makes it to the US (unlikely) the taco may get bumped to occasional use.
