South Carolina BS thread under new MANAGEMENT and lives in SC

we've done a boston butt in the oven for Christmas morning for as long as I can remember, but this is the first time ive heard this much about prime rib for Christmas. weird. not complaining though. I would love for that to be our tradition haha

 

Never heard of this tradition. Is it a southern thing?

 

I guess so. we didn't get the memo though. we just do biscuits and chocolate gravy and some boston butt.

yep. todays day 1 of 7 days straight. day 5,6,7 are 16's thanks to people taking time off.

 

that would be nice. im doing mornings with family today and tomorrow so that's nice. we only get 1 day off between 2nd and 3rd so im in it for the long haul this month.

 

yea it wont be too bad. ill go buy myself a rib roast and celebrate a new tradition!

We have been doing prime rib for the past couple of years at my mom's for Christmas. Her DH makes it and he's from NJ, so there is that.

 

I like it. I hope my dad keeps doing it. that was a delicious prime rib. he also made his own horseradish which was pretty darn good too.
