So i have a 2008 base 2WD and i changed out the stock radio to a JVC KW-V240BT touchscreen/bluetooth radio. And so im trying to figure out how these three wires will connect to my stereo/radio as there is only 1 wire coming off my radio for the Steering wheel controls

you need a module to interface. Axxess, PAC, Maestro, and crux all make good pieces

Ok. Can you send a link to some that will work. Like i say i only have the 3 wires in that connector and 1 wire off the radio so im not sure how one of those would hook up. Also do you know if a 4runner airbag will work in a tacoma

you dont have to have the harness, just keeps you from needing to splice factory wiring.

Oh ok. So you have to have both to prevent from having to splice wires

Yes. The harness has a red and black that need to be wired in to the red and black wires on your new radio harness

Those are coming from the factory AUX jack in the trucks that have it. If you’re truck doesn’t have one you can de-pin them, cut them off, or just ignore them

Ok. So plug the black connector into the other and the white connector into the factory harness and the jack that has the blue and white wire connect that to the one on the radio and the cord with the 3.5 mm male jack plugs into the female that gets connected to the radio

White connector goes to factory. Black connector goes to module linked earlier. That module will also come with a 3.5mm adapter to go to your radio’s blue/yellow wire

Ok. I read on an older post but to pull the steering wheel should just take removing the 19mm nut holding it on right

Oh, your steering wheel doesn’t have controls already and you’re trying to add them? You’re on your own with that one lol. I don’t mess with airbags

So i put the switches on, hooked up the interface module and adapter. But for some reason my phone controls don't work. Now on the 3.5 mm connector (that connects to the blue wire with the yellow stripe) has two wires one is solid brown and the other is brown with a white stripe. I put all 3 wires together but should i have only put 2 of the wires together?

You want to do ONLY the solid brown wire to the blue/yellow. Then plug the 3.5 into that jack.
If you used the axxess module, they sometimes have issues with phone buttons during the auto-program, and needs manual programming
