But ours had the most awesomeness color of all Tacomas. But yes the interior is not a pleasant color.

I had an 01-04 console in my 2000 with tan interior. Perfect match you’ve got nothing to worry about

I would assume it’s because they don’t want to clean up overspray.

Technically yesterday but manual hub conversion, king coilover and camburg UCA install.
Sooo much better than the crappy spacer lift the truck came with.

Speaking of manual hubs, anyone have a spare of the brass bushing or nut or whatever people are having a hard time sourcing? Or a print?Depending on the machining involved I might make a few if I decide to go manual hubs.

The relay is in the lower part of the dash. It’s down just a little bit from the ECT switch. I’ll see if I can find a pic from my install. A little bit of a pain in the ass to do but well worth it.

    Edit: I found the pics.

Merry Christmas. This thread and it’s contributors have cost me more money in mods than I never would have known existed. My truck is something today that I never thought it would be.... That’s not a dig, that’s a big ol’ thank you. Proud to be a 1st Gen, Best Gen.

Mainly less things to fail. And it's the rage.

How so? I haven't looked into it in awhile, I contemplated it years ago and I'm thinking you told me not to.

But mainly I'm looking for projects to keep my skills up.

Lower spline count on the outer hubs and axle. Just not as strong.

IMO it's more things to break. And makes swapping a CV a pita.

I bought an Oak/Brown color console from a 2002 for my 99 model. Both use the same color plastic.

Installed the salvage yard seat from a 2002 in my 99 model.

The seat is more comfortable to me than the bench seat that was deeply wallowed out by the previous owner.

I have some work to do to the console before installing it.
