Not experiencing rubbing with 275/70/R17. Should I be concerned?

Merry Christmas (I say this to make sure no one kills me for stupidity)

I have a 2016 DCSB TRD sport Tacoma 4x4. Completely stock. Just bought some 275/70/R17 tires and put them on the stock 17” sport rims. I read here (after using the search) that the largest tire size that fit stock without rubbing are 265/65/R17.

I haven’t noticed any rubbing and now I’m concerned that the tires aren’t loaded on right or something. Anyone else put tires this size and noticed no issues? The last thing I want is to find out the hard way when a tire pops on the highway that it’s been rubbing in a way I hadn’t noticed.

What tires are they? BFG's, Duratracs all tend to run on 17" TRD sport rims. (265/70R17) but the rubbing is very mild compared to 285 rubbing.

    Do you have mud flaps?

They are likely mounted just fine, don't stress. Show us a pic!

Might be different for every truck and setup. I had 275/70/17 K02s with -10 offset Ray10s on stock suspension for 5 minutes. I nearly ripped off my fenders coming out of the shop. I had them put my stock wheels & tires back and installed them when i lifted my truck

275/70-17 Cooper ST Maxx on stock sport wheels aswell here. With levelling kit I rub full lock on the upper control arms. Drive it around for a bit and check for wear in your front wheel wells. If you come out clean then call it a day and consider yourself lucky and review your alignment sheet for caster degrees. That may explain some answers for you, with the tire shop adjusting for the bigger tires, perhaps without you being aware. Cheers

If you aren’t rubbing that’s good news! Check your onboard psi monitor and check your lug nuts if you’re really worried. I have 275/70/17 with 1” lift and I could’ve gotten away without the lift I think. I don’t rub at all unless I’m turning the wheel full lock in reverse.

I would check backside of tire at upper control arm/ball joint area. Has to be almost touching with stock sport wheels (+30). Stock tires (265/65/17) are only finger width away. What I read on here most with this size tire and stock sport wheels run wheel spacers, min 3/4" (Bora) to clear upper control arm. Sidewall flex is major concern.

    Offroad is 16x7 +30, 5.25" backspace
275/70/17 is 5mm closer to the suspension.

You should only be concerned if rubbing doesn't happen by a 3rd date.
