    Maybe as much as you paid for your rig especially if you're going to pay someone to do it. A new supercharger alone is $3000. The 7th injector is another $800. Headers are a pain in the ass to install and thus labor intensive. If you paid a shop for this, I bet you'd be out over $6000.

    There is no such thing as a bolt-on engine swap. You’ll have to be welding or fabricating a lot of engine and drivetrain support components.

    If you want to get into tuning, fuel management, welding, and fabrication go for a turbo. If you want simple bolt on get a Supercharger. I would like to call myself pretty mechanically inclined but tuning and engine management is black magic to me.

    The only test I can think of is a compression test. If all the numbers come out good, that means at least that your valves and valve seats are in decent shape. Your piston rings are in decent shape. Your head gasket isn't compromised anywhere. And, it means you don't have a cracked head.

    But, this is the way I look at throwing a supercharger on an engine. You're putting this thing on that's gaining you 70 extra horsepower and 40 lbs more torque. Is that extra performance going to put more strain on the engine? It certainly makes sense to me that it would. An analogy is a body builder takes steroids to be able to work out harder and recover quicker so he can build more muscle. He's going to look good and maybe win a competition or two, but at the same time, those steroids are screwing things up like enlarging his heart and shrinking his nut sack. Some guys can get away with using steroids for a long time (think Arnold Schwarzenegger), and still end up living a long life. Others who abuse steroids end up dying much earlier than they should have.

    So, is your engine going to be like Arnold Schwarzenegger and be able to handle the extra abuse you're planning on putting it through, or is it going to buckle under the strain and die an earlier death than it would have if you never put a supercharger on it?
