You cant lift 2.5 inches without new shocks and struts unless you use blocks which have lots of defects and are not an ideal long term option.

Like I said rear blocks aren’t ideal and 3.5 inch lift will cause a lot of other issues other then just trying to lift, you’d need to replace a bunch of other things it’d be a big hassle

285’s will likely rub even with a 3” lift.
I have a 3” toytec lift with Bilstein 5100’s all around. (Much like everyone is recommending) I have Icon UCA’s and I just switched from 255/85/16 with no rub to 285/75/16, which rub kind of a lot. I need to do the “pinch weld mod” and you will need to as well. Keep in mind, with 3” of lift, you will also need upper control arms, (for alignment) and high angle CV boots, or perform the boot slide mod. Don’t get discouraged, but be armed with knowledge before you spend any money. If I had made a list of all the crap I would need to buy (and do) to make a 3” lift work properly, I probably would have waited until I could afford to SAS it. 3” doesn’t seem like much, but it takes a lot for these trucks to be done “right”

I’m loving this help... got this truck for $3400 and wanted to spend less than $500 for a lift originally... looking lot that won’t be the case... already got the tires and rims for a deal! just kinda wanted a simple explanation or lift to buy and put in and be happy, but sounds like i’m driving stock for a while!

The kit @Blue92 posted is the one to get with the budget you have, it's the best option.

Even with a lift you will have to trim and flatten the pinch weld to fit 33" tires. Lift only does so much to help with bigger tires, cutting/trimming and flattening are unavoidable depending on your wheels backspacing and alignment numbers

Wheel spacers usually make rubbing the pinch weld worse, they will help if you're rubbing the frame though

If it’s not too hard, go about it by selling your tires you have on your rims and keep the rims, (you can get them removed by a tire shop or something maybe your school has one) then buy some new tires. Here’s a guide to tires and how much bigger they are or how much smaller they are then stock tires. Just enter 31x10.5r17 and click alternative sizes and it’ll tell you everything you need to know especially how much bigger the diameter is compared to stock

Or just keep it stock until you have more money to do this! I’m sure someone on Craigslist would buy the rims and tires off you quickly and you’d have enough to get some different ones that’ll fit better
