None yet, starting over!! OME lift w/ Dakars & 885's Remote Start w/ window control
I pick up my new (used) Taco Saturday morning, and first thing planned is setting out on a set of custom kicks for a set of Diamond Audio S500s Hex's...

But the truck is an AT, and I can't stand the ebrake pedal where it is...

Anyone know if the ebrake can be moved to where it would be in a MT Taco?

If I were you, i'd stay away from the kicks. I just made some and the sound stage is pretty low even with the tweeters mounted high up on the pillars. It does sound nice, just wish the stage was higher. Right now its at chest height.

Should you choose to put the speakers in the kicks, then it can be done with the ebrake in place. Check out my build.

Just to warn you, the wires in the kick panel area will get in the way. You will have to either move them or push them further into the kick panel area. This is from my experience.

Also, I don't see why your suggestion can't be done. I would think you just have to get the gear from the MT trucks and install it into the AT truck. The only thing you'd lose is the storage compartment. When I was doing my stereo install I tore apart my truck and I noticed that there was less room under the center console for the AT due to the large shifter assembly. However, there seems to be enough room for the cable...must be since there already is a cable there. hahaha

Your tweeter should actually be within a few inches of your midwoofer for best sound.

On the op's question. Your e-brake is just a cable so I think you should be able to move it fairly easily once you have the parts. If you don't want to build kicks, q logic sells them for a pretty decent price and you can keep your e-brake where it is

It actually sounds really nice so far. I still haven't made the a-pillars yet, but had the XT25's mounted on the pillars for a little while to see how they sound on & off axis. I like them on axis. Right now I have them crossed pretty high, around 5k.

I don't think that's 100% true all the time however. If you get a mid that can play a wide enough band of freqs to be a point source speaker, you should have no problem putting the mids in the kicks and the tweets up high in the pillars. There are ALOT of guys on the Hybrid Audio forums running their systems this way, or very similar. Where the mid in the kicks sees ~200hz anywhere up to 8khz, 10khz, or even more.

Hybrid Audio L4's can cover an insane range, and some guys running them in the kicks on-axis don't even run tweeters. IIRC the L4's can play up to 14khz on-axis.

But if the mid can't play that large a range, then having the tweets right there next to them is def a good idea. Otherwise you are getting vocal cues from 2 different locations.
