Swapped out my gauge cluster for a cluster with a tach from of 2.7 and installed up a back up can even though I don’t have a head unit for it yet. Also I figured I show a photo of the half Tacoma/half Integra seat rails from my post a month ago while I had the seats out to run under the carpet.

Bought a Satoshi mesh from @HomerTaco like two years ago and figured it was time to finally start working on it. I kinda butchered it. Lot of little scuffs on the lip from Dremel/ sawzall

tomorrow, sanding, priming, painting. Next day installing the mesh/Toyota symbol

Thanks man. Ive been enjoying some of the creature comforts my 96 lacked, such as cup holders (13 cup holders in the 17 to be exact). I am going to miss my 96. I will likely hang around the first gen thread mostly still, the third gen thread is a scary place.

Did the mechanism change in 01? I thought it all was done above the grill?

Can you swap for an older latch or will that not work?

Correct, you can slide your hand above the grill and open.

It’s a good thing you mentioned that! I forgot all about that part!

I remember reading up a while back about it. I think it’s something jerry rigged like a 1/8” cable with a ring on it placed somewhere you can just pull it to release the lever. I’m on my ship in port and we have plenty of cable and pulleys. I’m sure I’ll come up with some contraption

With my old grill, I had to put my hand in the grill to release the lever and not the part that’s open at the top of the hood ? If I can fit my hand down there that’d save me a step.
