You're fine at those temps from just a few minutes of idling. The truck runs at about 185 engine temp while driving and tranny is usually the same or lower without a load.

After 14+ years, FINALLY removed the last piece of ugly Tacoma chrome... I can now say that there is NO MORE CHROME inside or outside the Taco!

Wrapped that bad boy with 3M 1080 Satin Black vinyl film...

Thank you sir and im glad I could assist you! I had the same conflict for a few weeks and glad I went the route I did. I saved maybe $1200 and gained 2 lbs per wheel but instant gratification is my forte haha

 

If I'm not mistaken, everything in there is bolted in place. Sounds like one of the track bolts is loose. Been too long since I have viewed inside the doors.

With my new methods I'm gaining 8lbs per wheel.... ouch

 

I completed the install of the Gentex GNTX-453 that I got from Bob's Mirrors. Install was easy because the kit included all of the needed parts and full color instructions. Really happy to have the compass and temp available at all times.

 

Well the 2lb gain is from going from te37x to rpt1. The te37x are 16lbs a wheel, rpt1 is 18. Overall with my LT285/75r16 Falken Wildpeak at3w @ 60lbs, we are now on the 78lb range per wheel/tire. I believe stock wheel setup is near 60 (sr5 chrome wheels and 245/75r16)

 

I should be close to 82, those are some super light wheels
