That's a horrible idea. What time?
Maybe I'm wrong, or maybe Ford marketed it that way, but my window sticker said CVT and the dealership called it that. Painting with a broad paintbrush?

Don't get me wrong about my F150, I loved the truck. But I was growing tired of the dealership designed maintenance. Gas rails over spark plugs as an example. Congrats on your miles. I know of others who have had similar results. The Focus and Ford's responses just soured me on another Ford product.

The Ranger does not have a CVT, it uses the same 10 speed automatic used in GM and Ford vehicles.

Definitely a newb on these forums. Yes, I’ll be back because I love Toyota’s. But won’t be on the turd gen.

Ive also worked in the stamping area of most auto manufacturers (in multiple countries) and their suppliers. Ive seen more, and know more about motor vehicles than you ever will. Yea, I'm a newb

Sounds like a newb to Toyota. If we are comparing sizes then. Let’s see 1995 Toyota single cab, 2001 Tacoma single cab, 2005 Tacoma DCSB, 2012 Tacoma DCSB, 2017 Tacoma DCSB, 2012 FJ Cruiser, 2006 Tundra DCSB. Sounds like your the one sent here by Ford. By the way welcome to TW.

Too bad you never got your money's worth out of any of those. A ford suits you!

I know right three Toyota vehicles that actually sucked. Actually make that four forgot to add a 2004 Tacoma DCSB. 2006 Tundra had 4wd that went in and out and needed new actuator and T-case (Sold for Ranger). 2004 Tundra had rust issues. FJ Cruiser had a drive line issue that felt like I got rear ended when I came to a stop. Replaced the driveline with no improvement. 2017 well....there’s a reason it’s called turd gen. Toyota not showing a good track record when you add it up. The 2012 Tacoma was my favorite along with the 06 Tundra. Sadly had to sell the 2012 for a Prius since I had a commute of 3 plus hours to work. Just because it says Toyota on it doesn’t mean it’s going to be a reliable vehicle.

I read it in Motor Trend or something, just before production. I stand corrected.

    Careful Matt.

The first rule of TW is that anything with the 4.0 - pucker up your lips and suck and swallow.

The second rule is if it's made in Japan, lube up your rear door and bend over.

The third rule is that if it's a Toyota and old, it's a classic and we should all worship at its feet.

The FJ cruiser fits at least two of those criteria. Proceed with pointing out it's foibles at your own risk.

No complaints allowed unless it's on a stupid third gen and it's minivan motor.

The FJ was great! It was super capable off road without any lift. The articulation was obviously limited but didn’t stop me from going where I needed.

nice, I really wanted to find an Army Green but it was out of my price range at the time. One of my favorite features is no carpet! I wish more manufactures would do that especially for there off road versions.
