And then, the Little Tikes pickup truck came out in maybe 1994 or so, and I obviously wanted it more than I wanted the minivan! About the same time this thing came out, my uncle bought me a Power Wheels Jeep as a preschool graduation present and I more or less forgot about it; My parents ironically (or perhaps not so much) bought me a real pickup truck when I got my learner's permit, so it ended up working out...

 

Here's a Christmas photo I overlooked...

This was taken at my Grandma's house in Connecticut, on Christmas morning in 1996; Me (age 7) and my cousin (age 10) playing with my new Hot Wheels Criss-Cross-Crash track!

 

My uncle bought me the Sand Blaster in May or June 1994, and I used it until 1998 when I finally outgrew it; When we were living in on-base housing in California, our neighbor converted it to run on a tractor battery in 1997!

That's our Labrador Molly, who was not even two years old at the time, but ended up living to be 15!

Snow is in the DNA of pretty much every Labrador Retriever; Molly, just 13 months old at the time, was no different and this was pure paradise to her...

Our next door neighbors (who lived in that brown house), has a male Golden Retriever named Casey who was pretty much Molly's best friend. Molly actually managed to climb over the snowdrift into their backyard the day this picture was taken; One time in spring 1996, long after all the snow had melted, Molly actually managed to climb the fence without any assistance, and my mom just happened to look out the window and see Molly in the backyard playing with Casey!

My dad didn't feel like clearing the whole driveway, and he dug me a snow fort in the remaining snow; Me and my cousins outside the snow fort...

My entire fleet of vehicles can be seen here (the Jeep, the Kettler pedal go-kart, my red wagon, my bicycle, and my scooter); We had no space at this house, so we kept them locked up in the front yard...

 

Good and bad...

My dad will not buy a new snowblower, and I refuse to shovel our driveway; Luckily, we have neighbors with snowblowers who look for any excuse to use them...

I've been on this earth for almost 31 years and I can only remember one white Christmas!

 

The one time we didn't lock up my vehicles (when I was nice enough, and perhaps stupid enough, to let a girl I had a crush on play with my fleet while my parents and I went to dinner), some other kids stole my then-new bike and my scooter, trashed them and let the air out of the tires, and abandoned them in a park down the street. I never would have known who did it, except one day I was out for a bike ride and the kids I'm 99% sure did it were out for a bike ride/dog walk with their mom; This stupid girl put the handlebar pad from my bike on her pink Barbie bike, and it stuck out like a sore thumb!

This girl, who was maybe ten at the time, refused to give me back my handlebar pad, saying she'd found it and citing "finders keepers". I was riding the bike that the part belonged to, and her mother who was with them made her give it back to me because I was literally riding the biggest proof that it was my property!

This is me the daughter of the people who owned Casey the Golden Retriever, in the family room of our North Wales house sometime in 1996...

Her name is Amanda Lynch; Everyone called her "Mandy" and she was easily my best friend even though she was three years younger than me...

Unfortunately, life happens; Her parents divorced and she and her brother moved back home to Indiana with their mom in the spring of 1996, and we moved to California that summer. I have not been able to find any trace of her on social media. I am 99% sure that I would have been taking Mandy to prom if both of our families had been living there that long...



Our obsession with Disney is apparent here; I'm holding the VHS copy of The Aristocats that my Grandma bought for my cousins and me to watch, and Mandy appears to be holding a 101 Dalmatians storybook...
