You can remote start stop it
Yes exactly. According to the App it says it turns off after 10 minutes. I haven't timed it, but it seems to be a little short of 10 minutes. It also turns off when you open the door which is also annoying. You can't roll the windows up or down. One cool feature is that it will notify you if any of the doors are open or unlocked. It also shows you recent trips and the last location you parked it.

I don't get how the tacoma got a 2020 refresh, but still got a potato camera and don't have basic things that have been in mainline cars for years. Remote start, heated/cool seats, and so on. But there really isn't a good alternative at this time

Remote start via app or fob auto shuts off after 10 minutes (I had previously stated 15 min elsewhere, but I was wrong). You can't control anything other than start/stop and locks via the app.

    From my documentation, yes.

Additionally, you can connect the app to smart home stuff like Google Assistant. Meaning I can yell at my house to remote start the truck, but it's VERY cumbersome.

Toyota tends to be conservative in their updates. Supposedly to maintain the reliability reputation.

Mostly because they roll their money into the bones of a vehicle. That's why a T4r can put 250k on no issues, but a new loaded grand cherokee limited can't go 70k without transmission issues.

But they seem to get the message recently. I bet more/better tech comes out as time goes on. I'm hoping they just offer an option without it. Bad enough everyone has to pay for the blind spot monitoring and such. But I digress.

Good luck on your hunt OP. If you can swing the pro and aren't looking to put a lift it it, swing for the fence! I'm sure you'll love it

I've been looking into an upgrade for about 4 months but then decided to wave off until after I get back from my 9 month vacation to the middle east.

For a while I've been lurking on here, reading up on everything, and making a list of mods I'm intrested in.

I ended up on the Pro trim since I'm not looking to get crazy with the lift and tires. I just like the looks of the 33s on the tacoma, and the whole lifting process kinda intimidates me and I have no idea what all I do and don't need. Topping it off with the extra bits and it almost seems worth it if I can get it for a reasonable price

My 2019 locks and unlocks with the doors. Unlike my 2017 Tundra TRD Pro.

Do you have an intended use for the truck? If you're not hitting extreme off-road trails, a lift isn't necessary at all.

I do fair amount of offroading to get to trailheads and fishing spots. But a lot of vehicle trails in new england that my 2wd Ranger can get back without getting stuck, so I dont do as much as I want to do

    1. Owned for three months. Glad I waited for the 20, It has exceeded my expectations.
    2. MSRP
    3. The good front camera view requires 4L.
    4. No real mods. Splash guards, bed mat, and tonneau cover.
    5. Hidden winch mount

    1. 2020 White Pro since September. So far so good, no real complaints. Like others have said...the cameras suck, my wife's MDX is so clear compared to my Taco. Also I gave up a heated steering wheel so I miss that. Wish it had A/C seats too.

    2. MSRP

    3. Not really, I didn't like the exhaust so I traded a friend for his stock exhaust. We both got what we wanted. Now mine is quiet and doesn't sound like crap (I came from a 2018 M3 so I couldn't stand the exhaust on this truck, would have been different if it has something behind the sound but alas it's gutless...lol)

    4. BFG A/T KO2s, bed extender, KTJO tail gate lock, ECT always on, SDHQ hidden winch, red start button, AJT Design vent rings, window tint, rear diff guard

    5. Bud Built rock rails (on order, haven't been delivered yet), probably some other armor underneath will be coming pretty soon.

I should probably stop, didn't realize the mod list was that long already...lol

Tacoma’s (especially 2016+) cost too much for what you get.

Well that comment doesn't really help. Why do you think that? Because it sure seems all new vehicles cost too much for what you're getting these day no matter what it is.
