For the first time I had an opportunity to try my 4 wheel Drive, following the info in the owner's manual, made sure I was in Neutral and dead stop shifted first to 4W hi ( I turned the Knob ) I more felt than heard it engage. the appropriate lights came on, I drive around a 5 Acre lot for around 15 min. Pushed the ring, set the 4Lo. also from dead stop the change was smooth, could certainly feel the lower range, I noticed the Speedometer was not moving ever at 10 to 15 MPH.
Is this normal ? after an hour or so In 4L I stopped turned the knob back to 2Hi there was a distinct clunk, then all was normal. BTW this is a manual shift.

Speedometer should still work regardless of transfer case gear range.

Beelz, can I call you Beelz or do your prefer Beelzebub? Anyways, you're all good...no need to stop for 2hi to 4hi transition or back, just 4lo. Regarding the speedo in 4lo, if you're in 4lo disregard all speed indicators and keep your eye on the trail...you'll not be getting any speeding tickets.

    Keep having fun dood!
