Hey all, new member here. Just got an LED whip for Christmas. Have a mount on the way that bolts into the bed rails. One issue; I don’t want to run power to the battery. Anyone know of an adapter I can use to plug into the outlet in the truck bed? Specs on the whip say 144w. Thanks in advance!

NEMA 1-15 since it won't be grounded. Good luck.

use the factory trailer outlet for power? How did you plan on turning them on? switch or when your running lights turn on?

My first thought was to connect them to my ditch lights and run them from there, but I don’t want to do a permanent install. Saw someone had it connected to the outlet and figured that was the easiest option.

Do I need anything to regulate the voltage or amperage?

It is 12 volt. Hoping to find an AC adapter for it.

The problem will be the wattage. 144 watts seems high. That will require a 12amp converter. The plug is rated at 100 watts when driving. Unless you do the 400 watt always on mod.

Gotcha. Looks like I’m going to wire it to my ditch lights! Thanks for the info
