isn't there a thread for sound deadener I need to know how much square feet I need.

from road noise maybe

 

Floor and maybe have the cab

 

do you have bare metal under your cab?

i.e. no rubbery undercoat stuff

 

Carpet got to remove it and had a layer.

Busy weekend ahead.
-Return line for PS was split and I lost all my fluid so thats getting fixed.
-while im crawling under there I’m debating wrestling the diff out and re-sealing my oil pan. Theres a significant amount of horsepower sweat leaking out of there. Im hoping its just the pan and not the rear main
-Also getting the 4wd j shifter fixed thanks to @Uphillshunter for sending me the replacement.
-and putting a new passenger door handle
Theres alot more to be done but those are the priority Items

 

Back wall is one of the most important areas. I did floor, back wall, doors, and roof. Well worth the effort.

 

does the back wall eliminate driveshaft and rear axle noise?
are you running some kind of recording studio in your truck
the only noise i have really is from the engine compartment through the firewall
but i have other noises that i do not like that popped up on me recently

one of them may have been recently eliminated but the jury and test driving is still out. waiting for an uber windy day and do some more testing

 

Just quiets it down in general. Mostly it was to cover up the road noise of aggressive mud tires, and a somewhat loud exhaust (Magnaflow).

your situation is definitely different than mine
very quiet GY DuraTracs and uber quiet Borla exhaust

 

Mine has super quiet tires and stock quiet exhaust and still has lots of road and wind noise. The first gen Tacoma does not have much sound insulation from the factory. But sounds like it is good enough for you but not good enough for some others as they want to make it quieter. How weird huh?
