My truck is making a chirping/squealing sound when first started, but it goes away after the truck has been running for several minutes; It sounds like the serpentine belt, but I inspected the belt the other day and it seemed fine (tight and with no signs of wear).

I’ve really gotta stop posting in the “un-funny/non-political pictures” thread, because it is honestly starting to annoy me when I log into TW and find 20+ notifications, all from people “liking” my posts that in some cases are from several weeks or even a month or two ago!

    :annoyed:

I was trying to set up a date with this attractive black woman who is 10 years older than me, but it ended up falling through...

    :(

From 5th grade all the way up to the present day, a good number of the girls I’ve been seriously attracted to have been Asian, Black, Hispanic, or mixed-race; I do not know why this is!

You might have a pulley on the way out.

How much does that cost and how long of a job is it?

I am done with my local stealership!

Maybe it's an extended cab or double cab and that's why she says it's bigger, looking forward to hearing what it is.

The deceased ex used to have a red 2002 DCSB TRD 4x4; As far as I know, this truck had a good frame, but it was old and beat up, and had relatively high miles, so he got rid of it and bought a newer one...

What I am dying to know is why my friend says it’s an ‘04 but it seems like a 2nd Gen based on her daughter’s description.

It depends which one is going bad too, just a guess of what to begin checking. Year's ago I had a weird squeal similar to your description and I checked everything on the regular belts, ended up being the tensioner pulley for the timing belt as it decided to lock up and break the belt.

    @shakerhood

I want to save up for a condo, but my truck is at the age and mileage where random parts start wearing out; It’s not helping!

I refuse to go to the dealer anymore, because my local dealer seems to charge ridiculously high prices even by dealer standards!

If it's a double cab stick then it will be a 2nd Gen for sure.

Friend’s daughter says it not a 4-door and has a longer bed than the one it replaced...

It depends what the actual cause is, hard to guess but sounds like a pulley based on the description.

Replacing the pulley? I still think replacing parts on my truck as they break is more cost effective than buying a new vehicle!

Right but a 2nd Gen access cab has rear opening doors and she said 2 doors.

But this is relative, because my friend and her kids are the types who will see one generation of Tacoma, and then see another generation, and say they look alike because they have the same emblem on the grille or have “TOYOTA” on the tailgate...

Read above; It’s entirely possible that she doesn’t think it has rear doors...
