SSO hybrid bumper, Warn winch, RCI skid trilogy, RRW sliders, everything in the cheap/free mods thread, and of course the frame recall work.
CB, 5# fire extinguisher behind rear passenger seat, first aid trauma kit with CPR gear, 2L water, 2 MREs, recovery straps, work gloves, 2 flashlights, gardening shovel (better than hand!). 5# extinguisher is a must if you wheel your rig. We were out once and a new build Jeep popped the tranny line off and sprayed the cats. Instant fire. It took 4 of these extinguishers to put out the blaze. Don't cheap out and think that dinky 2# thing will help at all. Go big, carry multiples if your rig has room, and ensure that everyone in your crew has them also.

I took the old Boy Scout motto of being prepared to heart.

I keep a good first aid kit and added a some stuff from my CLS bag. It fits in the cubby hole on the ACLB back door the other cubby hole holds ratchet straps and a tow strap. I have a tool kit with basic tools, air compressor, jumper cables, etc in a soft sided tool box that fits snug between the rear seats. I also keep daypack with what I would need for an unplanned camping trip (broke down, stranded, had to walk home, or interstate shut down type things). The daypack has a poncho liner and TP and is in the floor while all the other contents are in the storage compartments under the rear seats. I also have paper state maps behind the passenger seat. My pistol is always with me. For all the stuff I keep in the truck, I have only spent about $25 specifically on prepardness stuff.

    Lift, tires, stuff
I have a winch so I keep recovery gear in the truck most of the time (anytime I'm going off pavement). It's all in bags with jumper cables and a cheap tarp to use as a ground cloth and emergency shelter.

I keep a 2# fire extinguisher behind my back seat and usually take a 5# if I'm camping or hunting.

I always take waterproof matches and some tinder, an emergency whistle, emergency blanket, etc. If it's close to winter I take heavy clothes and sometimes a sleeping bag. Tire chains. I try to remember my chainsaw on the first few early spring runs.

I pack less than I used to. I make a map with my route on it and email it to my wife, with a pretty detailed itinerary, detours I may take, etc., including the time I'll be back. I'm gonna get a Garmin inreach so I can hopefully stop doing the maps.

    -Jumper cables
    -Battery pack/jumper
-Tow strap with hitch pin and hook
    -Fire extinguisher
    -Tire chains in winter
-5 gallons of gas in self venting safety can under camper shell in winter
    -Tool kit
    -Baling wire and cutters
    -Duct tape
    -Ratchet straps
    -Ice scraper
    -WD40
-Buck 110, hopefully the hard brass handle would help break a window in an emergency, haven't tried it
    -Zippo with extra fuel
-Stuffable down jacket, gloves, and rain gear in the winter
-1 pair of medical gloves in case I come across an accident
    -Paper towels and TP
    -Tourniquet
    -2 Flashlights
-Pepper spray for when I'm not carrying my 9mm

And I still need to figure out what I want to do about fix-a-flat and some sort of air compressor. Unfortunately I don't have the bed outlet so that cuts down on my options there

Plugs would be good, but with an E rated AT or MT truck tire, I've heard it's not easy. If you're running P rated tires it's definitely a great option though. Good point about damaging the TPMS though, that may make me rethink getting fix a flat for myself. I just keep my full size spare under my camper shell for now.

I keep a pair of slip on "water shoes" in case my regular shoes get covered in something I dont want inside the truck. And I cant stand driving barefoot. Lol.

Congratulations on the new truck and welcome to TW! Since your not off-roading, I would just carry the basics. You've got a good list going, but I would add in a few extras. Jumper cables would work, but if you're going to be out fishing and camping by yourself you might want to get a jump starter so you can jump yourself. It might not hurt to have a basic tool kit also. I would also add a headlamp and a cheap HI-Vis vest if find your self changing a flat or helping someone at night and a pocket knife.

For the winter I would add in a wool blanket or emergency space blanket (takes up a lot less room), hat, gloves, some chemical hand warmers, energy bars, some water, a tug strap, kitty litter (used for traction on ice), collapsable snow shovel (the kind carried when snowshoeing or backcountry skiing), tire chains, and maybe an extra sweatshirt.

I have to usually ask myself how stupid I would feel if I didn't carry something that would easily fit in my truck. Context: I spend a lot of time out in the mountains in all weather conditions so this does not apply in your case but you mentioned your lifestyle when deciding to buy a tacoma so that may put you in more remote areas. Congrats by the way.

    What I carry:
First aid kit (Adventure Medical Kits)
    Tow Strap
    Jumper Cables
    multi tool
    screwdriver set
    candles
extra clothing (insulated gloves, beanie, socks, rain jacket and pants)
    foldable shovel (e-tool style)
    external battery charger
3x sand bags (for added weight in rear but also traction if needed)
    zip ties
headlamp with emergency flash mode extra cr123 batteries
    sun screen/lip balm
MSR pocket rocket stove and fuel
    Mountain house meals
I carry water in the summer/winter but prepared if frozen to thaw.
one pot for melting snow and boiling water
    1 spoon
    zip ties
Toilet paper always, always, always or bring extra skivvies :)

    Optional
    Sleeping bag w/bivy sack

    What I want to buy:
    Recovery boards
gaiters (for hiking out in the deep snow)
    winch w/accessories
a jeep bottle jack (the tacoma one sucks)
    Patch kit
