I live in Kalamazoo but went to school in Marquette and visit often. I was backpacking in the porkies a couple weeks ago. Not nearly as many Tacos around these parts as there are out west! The first gens you do see in Michigan often have some rust issues I've noticed. I got lucky and found this 95' in Petoskey, although it spent 23 years in NC!

The 2004 reg cabs with the enhancement package (sliding rear window, A/C, 16" wheels) non Sr5 were a little over 17k new.

Any tips on shock replacements? I have a 4cyl 2.7 and it’s hard to find a solid answer as most people are rolling with extra cabs or bigger engines. Most people tell me Bilstein 5100’s but I heard that’s rough on 2.7 single cabs since they’re so light. Would 4600’s be the way to go. I’m rolling with 31x10.5x15’s

4600's if you want to keep stock height. The 5100 fronts are adjustable.

Awesome! I’ll probably keep stock height so I don’t have to readjust anything. It’s already got decent stock height to it!

I have 5100s on mine, and I have used them both for stock height, lift, and with a bumper and lift, I never found it to ride rough, I have kept the factory front coils and with a bumper and winch I have it on the 3rd highest setting without issues.

It would be convenient to be able to lift it if I wanted to since the 5100’s are adjustable! Any suggestions on places to shop for them?

Bilstien lifts, or Amazon. You can also go through wheeler's off road, I just got the shocks and that has worked out perfectly for me, The price difference for the 4600 vs 5100 is minimal in my opinion compared to the durability and ride quality. I had 4600s on mine when I bought it and it was night and day switching to 5100s. I also have over 70k on 5100s on 3 different trucks without a single failure.

I had 5100s on my 97 regular cab 4 cylinder. I thought it was good. Little stiffer with stick coils but not bad at all

I'm having trouble finding these wheels for sale that aren't black. Any suggestions on where to look?

I think they are all black, they are the factory spare on some vehicles. IIRC he painted his before installing them.

These are OEM spare steelies, they’re originally black but the dude I bought them from had them refinished in silver.

If you get a set, make sure they’re from a 1st gen, the 2nd gen spare steelies look the same but the backspacing is all wrong for our trucks, it will put the wheels closer to the frame than 1st gen wheels.

Thanks for clearing that up. I really dig the silver look, might have to copy.
