So I bought a 3” lift kit for my 2007 tacoma, but my tacoma already has 1.5” spacer on the struts. I was assuming they where to level out the rear, but I also noticed the truck doesn’t have the stock struts. That spacer it has should have lifted the front 3” because of the geometry of the suspension. Is there anyone with advice?

Post pics of the front shocks, including the top of the springs. Also post pics of the rear springs where they are U bolted to the axle housing.

The truck is leveled but I find it weird that it’s leveled with this size spacer.

Strange! That looks like a 1 1/2” spacer which should lift the front 3”. But... the upper control arm does not have anywhere near the amount of angle a 3” lift would have. Those are aftermarket front springs. That’s all I can tell from the pics.

The rear springs are OEM with no spacers.

That's really weird. I have the same sized spacer and my UCA is definitely at a very different angle and my truck is definitely taller than yours. Someone swapped in a shorter strut from a different vehicle is my guess.

My 2006's rear leaf springs have 2 leaves plus the stock overload/helper spring. What year did they switch to 3 leaves plus the overload? Someone has been in there to some extent because there's black paint overspray on the u bolt.

With the truck on the ground and measuring from the top of the strut to the middle of the struts bottom bolt the stock strut measures 19 3/4".

Yes the rear springs are the OEM but the front is what’s throwing me off. I’m assuming it’s just shorter because if we’re to take off that 1.5” spacer, it’ll drop so much.

Oh ok, I measured at 19” from the top of the strut to the center bolt of the bottom

    There's your 1 1/2" "drop".

Your trucks undercarraige is pretty clean, you must live on the correct coast - the west coast.

The 3+1 came out in later years. Not sure exactly when. Then there was a TSB to replace the 2+1 springs on the early 2nd gens with the 3+1 springs. Your Taco should be eligible for new rear springs.

The change to 3+1 is not supposed to fix Taco lean. It's for somewhat "better" rear suspension. Also, some of the rear springs broke and in rare occasions punctured the gas tank.

DG92071 thanks for the advice bro!!! I appreciate it! But yes! I am in the west coast, but this tacoma came from Utah. Looks pretty clean for 2007 besides the struts lol
