I apologize in advance for being a FNG. While waiting for my truck to show up, naturally I looked around TW to see what quirks the trucks have, the little mods to do, etc. I recall seeing people having issues with bed corners cracking and there were braces being made and installed and such, I figured in would have to do the same. I was poking around the truck yesterday and noticed the corner of the bed has a stamped steel plate on it. Am I misremembering the crack location or did toyota address the issue with the 2020 updates? (Not the best pic because of the sun's angle at the time, sorry.)

Also, regarding people bugging out about the location data stuff, I thought I'd show you the sticker that mine had on the overhead console.

Edit: There was a third thing, but I can't remember it at the moment. I'll get there. Let me know what pics of other things y'all might be curious about, I'll grab them when I can.

Edit 2: was looking around under it to plan out cavity waxing or fluid filming and I noticed plugs on the frame with cavity wax coming out. That's cool. A new thing or has that always been done too?

I like the sound deadening on the underside of the front fender wells too. Nice touch. I really like the seal between doors too, its remarkably quiet on the road, I was shocked.

And for reference, here's a pic of a non-pro LED headlight. The DRL is bright when headlights are set to auto, you can run fogs and parking lights and the DRLs are dimmed. Also, despite the marketing description, mine has the sequential turn signals as well. Love em.

The bed reinforcement is for people with extra weight on the bed sides (e.g., caps w RTT) and so causes bed spread.

Looks like the truck is California data compliant (2020).

I would love to hear the calls they're going to get!

"Bro, they couldn't even spot me so I could get that shot... I even told them I was an influencer and they didn't care!"

    -----
Now I feel like an idiot about the corner brace, thought I'd found a new toyota part that guys could retrofit for a nice little improvement...nope. Derp.

I'll have to look up the CA data compliance thing.

My last truck had an SOS button and I hit it accidentally one night looking for the light switch. I quick hung up but then received a quick phone call back from state police. I confirmed I was just an idiot who didn’t know how to use my truck and it was an error. ;) Anyways....at least the Tacoma has a plastic cover on it that you have to flip down to then press the button. Keep the mistakes to a minimum.

Thank you Ed, I appreciate you saying that.

Part of what I love about Tacomas is how many parts are shared across so many years, that's why I wanted to post the plate.

I added a couple of notes to the first post.

I have one too. It comes with a subscription service that includes navigation help from a live person. When they answer you just tell them the name or address of where you want to go and they send the map to your truck.

Yep. 2020s now have connected services. A few features are subscription based after a trial period.

Make sense. Most people put the bed mat and end up covering them.

Considering that it is a cellular data connection, it will be similar to what other MFGs like GM are charging. IMHO, wayy more than it is worth.

I bought the WiFi hotspot subscription. It is $200/yr. yea, I know it’s a lot, but I have excess income.
