I have taken my taco off road a few times mostly forest trails but having that locking rear diff is a life saver for a 4x2, the 4x4 would just give me that extra security of not having to worry. When I got the truck I was really into riding my 4wheeler so the off road package appealed to me and I just like the look. 99% of the people I know here with 4x4s ESPECIALLY those who have lifts and big tires their trucks never see dirt my 2 wheel drive has seen more than most of theirs not counting the beach

OR. And that is what I got.

I spent about 3 months of constant research so I knew exactly what I wanted. (Working oilfield as a medic is a very boring job.)

Having accidentally knocked up my wife, looking back I should have gotten a DC, but that would mean a sport.

Meh, provided I get hired on with the City I can purchase a Subaru or a Cheap 4Runner as a kid hauler and keep the truck for man days.

But I now have a reason to get a 4Runner too!

Or realistically a WRX or STI. :p

I hear kids can't yell properly when subjected to 0.95 of lateral G.

If I could have purchased a double cab Off Road package, I would have, but Toyota doesn't offer it up here in Canuck land. I had to have a double cab, so a 6 speed Sport it was. Still love the truck, but a locker and ATRAC would have been nice.

I already have a "street" truck... If I were to spend on a second taco, I'd spring for a double cab w/ offroad package...

v6 4x4 sport has everything i need for daily driving in north jersey, no offroad up here, if its not asphalt, its concrete or someones 10x10' back yard....absolutely content w/ the sport, plus i love the color matched bumper and sideviews. the OR is for someone who does "woodsy" things

I got the TRD OR in 4x4.

I may not use the full capabilities very often, but the few times I do, I'll have them.

That reason and I may move out of Florida again, somewhere out west. Would need it then.

I love my 4x4 DC sport... once I got rid of that damned hood scoop. 95% street driving, but nice to have the 4x4 when A) I go offroad, mainly fire roads and such, or B) get snow - not much here, but with the wife from WI, it figures I may be moving north eventually. plus the DC was bought with the idea of having kids before the truck's lifespan is up.

I love my 09 DC TRD Sport short bed. I had the choice between the OR or sport when purchasing and decided the sport better suit me.

I needed a DC for people and animal hauling.

My extent of offroading is going to my brothers vineyard (which some ares could use 4X4... Tractor!!:D) and I go camping a good bit. So some old backroad country roads are fun.

I didn't want the long bed because I felt like I was driving a large truck, so if I waned that feeling I might as well get the full size. But didn't want the huge truck.

Now granted the only thing I would change about my truck would be the lack of diff lock. Auto LSD, at least from what I have read here, is a joke. I would love to change my diff to a true locking, but haven't fully researched that route yet.

My Taco is my favorite vehicle to date.

I can't understand why anyone would want the fake hood scoop. I almost bought a sport and had the dealer swap the hood for a scoopless. The salesman couldn't explain what the OR options were so I did some research. Glad I did! Love my DC OR!
