    Yes, FF housing from a '95. This thing is pretty beef, most fabricated housings are the same wall thickness so I don't know if you'd even gain a whole lot other than the steel center section. The width is just about right too.

    If its more durable, it might be worth it. I've noticed that the axle does get hit with everything.

    Yeah, I don't doubt it's strength, but part of me just says to get exactly what I want the 1st go around. I have some slight concerns about the offset diff. I know it's worked for some with some more dedicated wheeling rigs, but wonder how the driveline angles and vibes would be for extended highway travel. Should also get better clearance from a fabricated housing, which would be nice.

    Would be a pretty easy route to go though. There's several for sale around me for $350.

    LOL as I eat my own words. @m3bassman there was a story about the satellite network on NPR this morning. However it was about how bright they are and how astronomers are worried because they keep messing up photos and telescopes.



    Also, filled my propane this morning for the grill...$11 haha

    If you’re going to change length, definitely worth centering the diff. The cost of custom axles on top of the fabbed housing kills it for me though. Even at 300-400 for the axle, after rebuild/gears/locker/etc you’re still in it for 2k+.

    We’ll see about driveline vibes, the compound angle is pretty mild so the u joint should be able to accommodate. If the pinion is rotated up to point at the carrier bearing correctly it shouldn’t even be compound, just an offset which is no problem.

    You could always start with the stock housing and upgrade to a fabbed housing at a later date. Most of the money is in the 3rd member anyway, you wouldn’t be out much for brakes, hub rebuild, etc.

    IMO, there aren't very many good choices for a verizon customer. I don't do iPhone or Samsung and that is what they push. So who is left. LG, Motorola and Google. Well frankly, I was disappointed in the offerings from all three.

    Naw, no pixel for me. I had high hopes for the new model. I had read that Google had hired away many of the top engineers from HTC but the 4 is getting very bad reviews from users who have switched from earlier models.

    My plan is to convince verizon support to allow me to use this unlocked OnePlus 7t phone on their network, It has been done by others, I would not be the first, but it does require a special configuration on their part. I'll let you know how that goes next week when I get back home.

    Worst case is, I can easily switch to T-mobile as this phone does work out of the box on that network and my monthly bill from them may even go down a bit for the same level of service.

    That is possible and is a concern. I certainly don't want to return to the days of dropped calls like I had as a sprint customer.

    As I indicated earlier, T-mobile is doing some interesting things, not the least of which is appearing to be leading the way (or the most ready) for the transition to 5g.
