haha thanks for chiming in for me, shoot I dont think I even need to be active on the forum anymore at this rate

I will say that a DCLB is long on the trail but it still gets around just fine. Full skids and good sliders are your friend on a trail limo. My single swing out does add a bit to our footprint when camped out but is still covered by our awning when we run it off the back (where we use it the most)

A single swing out was better for our set up because we wanted to build a table wide enough to hold our two burner stove etc.

All that said there are times when having the swing out off is nice. Once my garage is done I am going to rig up a spreader bar that will let me take off the swing out by myself with all the gear on it. One bolt and done.

Has anyone received their VO recently or knows how the production has been going? The last rollout video was December 6. It seems kind of odd that there hasn't been much other Instagram action lately either.

I picked my Drifter up on the 19th... looks like lots of Drifters in production. Haven't seen much Instagram action on the VO page but as SoCal said, it is the holidays... and even though they're not taking weeks off, they're still going to have less man-hours available than normal. Social media is probably one of the first things to go... as it should be. ;)

I'll get there! Been on the road since then. Back home just this evening. Weather has been quite uncooperative, and we stayed with family for most of our trip. But I'll get some photos going soon! :)

I actually swapped the struts without removing the tent, and also by myself.
...Honestly, I think I might have just spaced on the zipper attachment for the tent at the time, haha.

It was not ideal, but it worked - I compressed the new struts with a hi-lift and used some paracord to tie them off. Then threaded the top in as much as possible without pinching the paracord too much to be able to remove it. Got the bottom mounted, and then cut the paracord and finished threading in the top.

In terms of lid lifting difficulty, I don't remember the original state well enough to compare, but for all the weight I already had on the lid, the heavier struts definitely made it easier to open.

    Hey @Iggy, I hope you‘ve been well.
Are there any pictures around of a Drifter on a 1st gen Tundra access cab, or can you post some? In case you guys already installed one, I haven‘t followed the whole thread.

    Cheers, Neil
