Not so much trying to fix damage just after that near melt down, that damn smell will forever haunt that taillight housing and I don't trust the contacts or immediate wiring directly off those contacts. Replaced the taillight.

Haha damn, that's terrible. If your harness is fine then just make a butt splice with a quick disconnect at the end of it. That's how I ran the reverse light power for my rigid 4th taillight.

Might as well get a 4-Pin harness for it. @Sperrunner 's shell uses a 4-pin converter to power the dome lights.

I didn't tow for a good two years after I installed my 4-Pin. I just used it to power my other brake light.

Yeah, I have a disconnect inside the cap before it routes to the taillight housing - I just wanted to keep those wires clean on the taillight housing itself. Going to splice though. Thanks everyone for the input. Appreciate it.

Well, if the bass boat is added to the arsenal, then yeah - I'd have something to tow. No need has come up though. hahaha

Never heard of a truck coming from the factory with a camper shell, especially aftermarket.

The Snugtop Toyota OEM harness is especially unusual.

Yeah running boards I understand. A whole ass camper shell, that's weird. Dealer installed I'd expect, but not from the Port.

I remember the factory harness for the tow hitch itself, when I ordered my tow hitch from toyotaparts whatever site (this was before I knew about Camelback), I tried forever to track down that harness. Wanted that little OEM bracket attachment on the tow hitch. Finally gave up looking and haven't thought about it since.

The cap harness - that is interesting. Wonder if it was more regional (?). When I was shopping for my 02, I remember pouring over all the documentation since I was dead-set on ordering. I had specifics that I wanted and didn't want to deal with generic dealer inventory.

Before anyone mentions it, yes - if I had a damn wayback machine I'd go back and tell myself to ignore the sales rep and purchase a 4WD instead of the PreRunner. :bananadead: Never again.
