I’ve noticed that my truck is still putting steam out of the tail pipe well after warmup.
It hasn’t been getting above 45ish at all recently, but with my old car the steam usually stopped showing after warmup.
I have an 05, do I have a blown head gasket?

    Normal condensation being seen

Even all day? Only reason I’m worried is I heard 05s had notoriously bad head gaskets.

Then check the headgaskets to put your mind at ease

The exhaust gasses being much hotter than colder ambient air temperature will produce condensation no matter if the engine is warmed up or not

Best method to check? Just do a compression test?

I am just being irrational I hope. I know that if I can see my breath, I should see steam from the tailpipe. I came from a Subaru that I had to have the headgaskets done twice. Just neurotic I guess.

Good on you for paying attention to what seems to be the only real issue with 05-06 trucks, I am the same way with my 05.
I have encountered several instances where condensation has caused me unnecessary grief because it can look like bad head gasket symptoms. Smell the exhaust. If it's burning coolant, it will smell sweet, hard to miss. I have also had brown water residue inside the oil filler cap that looks exactly like a head gasket leak but was only condensation. A new radiator cap changed the coolant levels in the overflow tank.
The symptoms of bad head gaskets will not go away, condensation will. Drive the truck for an hour, then check it out.

Mine does it every single day or it drips water depending on ambient temp. And has done so since 2014. I lose no coolant and compression is super.
