Should be OK if engineered properly for strength. People do this accidentally with Bilstein 5100s often enough.

The video is from 2012. The "Pro Runner SS" shocks have been around for years. They are actually cheaper than Bilstein 5100s at less than $120 ea., $240 for the pair.

Vieto? So you've spent more on your heater than on your shocks? :p

So I went down to 4wheelparts in Burlington today after work, looked at all three of my winch "contestants".

Still like all the features of the Warn Zeon Platinum, but the thing is physically huge compared to the other 10 and 12K winches.
Cant justify paying almost $3k just so I don't have to reach for the freespool lever. And at $3K I could get a hydraulic winch setup...

The Gen2 X20 and the Gen3 10K winches looked almost identical,
Gen3 has a slightly larger motor and slightly faster but no wireless. But I could easily add wireless to it. But it also has a 6 pin controller so if I ever lost it it means I'm paying Smittybuilt replacement prices.

Tiny bit of differences between the two probably mean f' all anyways for the few times I'll ever be using it.

X20 Comp was in stock and on sale at $680 so I said f' it and bought it.. :)

I think I'm going to relocate the control box, so will have to make a custom bracket. Once I find the "happy spot".

I don't like their choice of wire sizes to and from the solenoid. They used hi temp insulation for a reason... those wire are going to be cooking at even half loading and causing quite a voltage drop from all the resistance. Not good for the motor.

So after I bench test this thing, I'll pick up some lugs and a crimper from work and get the box relocated.

I'm amazed no cooling fins on any of these winch motors. Real easy cheap way to increase the duty cycle.

Too f'n quiet in here, you guys better be wheelin or installing all those Xmass parts on your trucks!

Since snow is gone... can't post snow wheelin pics,
everything is a mud bog around here,
and don't have a winch installed to go mud boggin by myself...
Cold, damp, boring, gotta go buy a heater today,
so I don't stiffen up workin on the truck...

Sooo to liven up your day...
Here is a picture of a winch,
    not for any particular reason,
but just because I made the effort to push a button on my phone. ...

Need to get on with the times. Should've done an unboxing/gender reveal party for the winch for Twitter and Instagram. :p

Had this on my dodge and now its on the tacoma seems out of place but anyway I am looking for a place to test the "Amazon winch line" i got for it.
The 100ft. of cable was too heavy with that winch on a tacoma. Even that winch is too heavy but I'm just using what i have.
If your going out testing yours let me know I'd like to test out my set up just don't feel like driving to minden to do it.
    thanks.

Or should I throw an Arty-Sim in a box of glitter, and wave a few balloons around?

I'm an old guy, hard to keep up with all this fancy gender stuff....
