I’m not talking about older cars. I’m talking about the 1st Gen Tacoma.

1995-2000 didn’t even have any inertia sensors in the engine bay like the 3rd Gen 4Runner. Came later on in 2001.

I figured it was because ARB is one of the only ones that actually went through the rating process and paid the fees...most other bumpers probably work just fine with the airbag sensors but smaller companies aren't gonna go through the time, material and permit cost to get an official rating.

Kind of like how bigger companies eventually get their CARB cert but smaller ones never bother

I think I'm going to switch to the Carhartt Gravel color for covering the bucket seats instead of the traditional tan. I think this will blend with the Oak interior much better than traditional Carhartt tan. This truck's trim color looks a lot like Oak. I like the seat covers because they let the seat breathe underneath you in the summer.

They both do the same thing. You can check by looking in the engine bay at each fender for a yellow sensor and harness.

The louvers I had on the Z30 had a hinge up top and release on the bottom that allowed it be lifted for cleaning the glass. I liked it.

Basic principal why it works. Same style mount. With the exception of the side winching support. As far as airbag goes, it's the same with the same absorbing design.

This is what I remember. Still, was a pain to clean the louvers - glass wasn't an issue.

My 2000 Tacoma has the sensors in the engine bay part way down on both sides of bay. The accordion part of the bar I would think is like a built in crumple zone. To absorb what it can of the kinetic energy from the impact. At least that's what my brain thinks. Definitely could be wrong

Ooh 280zx turbo. They're pretty ugly compared to a 240/60/80 Z but man if that inline 6 turbo didn't sound good. Fun fact, the engine management from a z31 is a drop in replacement for the disgrace that comes on the 280zx and makes them run way better.

The Z30 I had was a tough and reliable car. I drove the hell out of it for 7 years. It was very low maintenance -- especially for a sports car. I got tired of it and bought a diesel Benz that was a short lived thrill. I should have kept the Z and just had it repainted again. The clear coat on Z cars back in those days would crack up or turn white regardless of how much you waxed it. I didn't know much about paint types in those days and without an internet for support, I would let little issues get under my skin.

Oh come on, let the man turn his interior into a three day old bowl of pea soup.
